Today at Barnes and Noble, i was looking around and I saw something I have allways wanted to buy....A dvd collection of very rare and famous movies made by Thomas Edison as old as from 1891. The thing is, it was priced at $100. I would buy it for $30 at the most. I have many of the movies on there on a DVD I made myself. What would an appropriate price be for antique movies such as these?

This is in the History category because I have no idea where else to put it...

Bram Stoker wrote the book "Dracula." Was this the first time anyone had heard of vampires or was Stoker writing about a legend that had existed for many years before?

i juz finished writing these, and i havent wrote an entry for months.. juz wanna know if this is okay.. hope ud share ur opininions.. i would really appreciate it..

A Flock of Murderers

they flew past me
performing a v-shaped death
across the crimson sky
they left me behind
with a guilt-colored paint
splashed upon my face
my fear stricken eyes
matched perfectly
with my ghastly image...

i tried to wash away
the physical damages that it dealt me
i tried to block my view
still..
images flashed
and polluted my mind

i whispered to myself
as the murderers landed upon my shoulders...
i might have got rid
of what they could see
but fear, guilt, and insanity
clung and seeped
within my very soul..

took all over me.....

Alright, this is not a condemnation of Harry Potter. Just want honest opinion about popular influences.

I'm a fairly young adult (27) and I enjoyed finally having the chance to learn ballet and hip hop while in college. I am hoping to start taking dance classes again in the future. I have no ambitions to be a professional dancer--just want to dance for the shear fun of it. For those who started dance a bit later on in life, what have been your experiences?

Thanks

I just wanted to see what others had to say. I asked this question because I see so many people say Harry dies then comes back to life at after the King's Cross chapter. I think based on what was said on pages 707-708 (US edition) that Harry was somewheres between life and death. Opinions?

All of my grandparents have been dead since I was young and there isn't really anyone in family who knows more than the immediate, current stuff.
I am quite mixed- Puerto Rican, Portugese and Croatian. I am interested especially because I feel like I have missed out on what I see in so many families- history and knowledge and so much more.
Has anyone here ever had a similar experience? How do you get past those road blocks? I would really like to know these things and share them with my family and one day give my children a history to run with.

I'll be graduating this fall with a Bachelors in Visual Arts (graphic design). Will going for a Masters in this be that beneficial or with the right portfolio I should get a good job no problem.

I was in England earlier this summer and I couldn't understand why the British people say "God save the Queen." Does is have historical significance or did they just get bored?

the following are some of my writings.. hope you could comment to each of them..
1st:
forever she looks from afar...
everything remains as it is. no winds of change could ever blow away the current stand, the existing truth, the mere reality.

forever as it is...
frozen in the coldness it brings. the weary heart he owns. imprisoned in the dark corners of his soul. she looks up in space for answers, waiting for hope to rain down upon her that could ease all her anxieties away..

take away... take me away

2nd:
stained truth

lies that are too blind to see
with the naked eye
rather it covers itself
the mere idea that deeply hurts
still not enough reasons
a need of strength
to unleash those chains
ignoring the pain of a dying heart
pierced with thorns
and yearns for truth...

3rd:
our eyes fixed..we remained silent, but our stare explained a hundred words.. told a thousand stories....

he caressed me gently with his hands. his warmth embraced me. i wish that i could just stay in that way forever. in a moment where my bare skin rubbed against his. where he could be close enough to share our intimate feelings. a time when we both get blinded by the love that's happening between us and only our heart's we feel. when it's just me and him that matters...

the moment was just too magical to explain with mere words.. my knight in shining armor takes me away, aboard his winged steed and brings me to his own world.. where he showered me with his love that only princesses deserved..

everything was there, the glittery lights, enchanting sounds from unseen or yet surround-sound speakers, the perfect view. even if the scene just played in my mind, if it was just my imagination or my neurons electrified.. it was certainly a package for a perfect fairytale.. my own fairytale
