I think it's saying that nobody is better than anybody else and even though some sins are more visible, all suck.
Of COURSE we have all fallen short of the glory of God tho. Moses says to God, “Show me your glory”. Which is our way of saying, “I need more. I need something I can see. Something tangible. God’s response? He tells Moses to go stand on a rock because he is going to pass by. He explains to Moses that no one can see him and live, so he’ll cover Moses with his hand as he passes by, and then he says, “I will remove my hand and you can see my back.” (exodus 33:23) The ancient rabbis had all sorts of things to say about this passage but one of the most fascinating things they picked up on this is the part about God’s back. They argued that in the original Hebrew language, the word “back” should be understood as a euphemism for “where I just was”. It is as if God is saying, “The best you’re going to do, the most you are capable of seeing is where I just was.”

We've all messed up and nobody is going to get to heaven by acting holier than anybody else and doing good deeds. Basically, we need Jesus to give us new hearts.
Jesus said,"For this people's hearts have become calloused. They hardly hear with their ears and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."

It's saying there's no point in even trying.

That quote is ridiculous.

I don't think God cares about sins. I mean sure, maybe he did way back with Adam and Eve but that was a while ago.
He could really care less whether you lose your virginity at 15 or if you wait 'til you're married.
All that really matters in the end is, Do you purely love God?

That will determine whether or not you're allowed into Heaven's Gates.

That is also why a good part of the population will never see Heaven.
Me included.

This is said by people who believe that God is not all-loving and all-powerful.

It is saying that God is not in control of His creation at all. He made a perfect universe but not perfect enough that it is possible to have a devil doing battle against Him and luring His perfect creations into sin. It is saying that God is so perfectionist and made 10 commandments and is sitting on His throne watching His 10 commandments not being followed. It is also making a mock of God that He is so unable to implement His laws that in order to fulfill his perfectionist requirements, He sends down His own son to be killed so that everyone will then be perfect.

This is not my God at all. This much more like a utilitarian or militaristic institution used to sway a large amount of people in only one belief so that it would be much easier to conquer. Is this the Roman Catholic Church or any religious institution? I heard they require you to give offerings before you can face God because you are not worthy to face Him with your sins. Therefore, every man who has fallen short of the glory of God should give money or any form of tribute along with a lot of penance and sacrifice. And that would be "ALL"? That would be a large amount of revenue, isn't it?

Come to think of it, it is those who were in power then who made plots to kill Jesus? Haven't anyone wondered why they did so? It is because Jesus is revealing to the people that they are free and loved? So free and loved that they don't have to pay for any sins at all? Maybe it is in the phrase "a large amount of followers for Jesus" and no more offerings for the religious leaders to eat?

It's the Christian guilt thing that no one is really worthy of going to heaven (assuming there is something there) but if you buy into the crap the church doles out we'll provide you some false hope of a better life after death...sad but true...
