I have no idea .Look how popular West Side Story is. I like Latin type music .Spanish and other International types of music. I am not referring to the synthetic disposable pop music that invades us .I am only interested in the evergreen instrumental selections that were recorded many years ago .

Philosophy questions are normally asked inside a philosophy forum and music question inside a a music forum...
what do these categories mean in the context of question asking?
I mean... like, totally... dude, why even have categories?
On a not serious - serious note, Selena was the funniest movie I've seen since Schindler's list, I'm happy no latina artist used that comedy as a jumping point for her career... oh, wait, one did.
You ask em...
don't be surprised by the responses.

I hate american popular music, like britney spears or lindsay lohan and similar artists. I think its just a group of peoples way of mass producing crap and selling it to make money. Y do u think young girls are becoming prostitutes? Because of people like Paris Hilton. Its always about the same things. Teenage dramas and romances, and nothing really meaningful that you use to find in rock, rap(the older ones), R&B, jazz, classical, blues, and other styles from then. I like Latin music though. I just think some pop music is just a rip off that calls itself music.

it's bec the music is the product of a spanish-portugese-french culture of latin america. BUT i DONT want to use the line "considered outsider" to describe it. We have to accept that american POP music is too vague and varied and latin music is part of it.

Notes and music are universal. They sound pleasant, more to some than others based on background and exposure.

I just love Cuban rhythms and the Bossa Nova. They are booty shakin' grooves that I can work in rhythm to! I am also a musician who loves to dabble in the newness of discovery. I am not alone!!! :)
