The fiery stems of hell
Reached out to touch her mind.
She is unknown to herself
And to her own kind.
She was no human
And never will be
But whether she was real or not,
We shall see.
Snatched from my embrasing arms,
She met her doom
Among the scorching flames
That became her tomb.
My friend, my lover
Is gone from me
I must find her
I must find the key
To unlock her unconcious
And bring her back,
To remember herself
And what began to lack.

She is back, I can see.

Noone knows why she did it
Nor did she know
The reason why she summoned
The engulfing hole.
The pure soul that once
Refined her nature
Is now split
Between her stature.
She has come back
For me.
What were her intensions,
I will soon see.

Her body was never made
Nor was it broken
Only her spirit remained
And her words spoken.
Was she me?
How should I know?
A feminine ghost
In a male body, you know.
A part of me, perhaps
A part I never knew
Is gone from me

Her soul I can't renew.

She is back, I can see.

The ghost once a part of me.

I posted this earlier as a challenge (I'll put the form below if you are not familiar with it--I wasn't before I wrote it). I got a good critique from Willow which made me think about one line that didn't work. I played around with it a bit--and came up with this change. Please let me know what you think?

Desolate

Sit down beneath this dark and awful moon.
Watch as the tide slides back beyond the shore.
Feel for the loss that struck me much to soon,
As you passed through, beyond that final door.

Brought to my knees,
A bent sick tree,
Willows whisper
Behind the clouds.

Thoughts hazy, your face is a fleeting dream.
Smell of your form evokes such subtle pain.
Ache burns beneath my skin—invades my mind.
Sit down beneath this dark and awful moon.

For me it's a tie between Stephenie Meyer and James Patterson. Yes, J.K. Rowling is good but she's not the best out there. I also enjoy the Pendragon series by D.J. McHale.

I "Believe" there`s a law in thermodynamics or physics that states we can neither create nor destroy energy. Furthermore it says something like energy goes under some sort of "Conversion" when it changes form. Which brings me to my question what happens to the electrochemical charge in the brain when we die? Obviously the brain matter conversets it`s energy to the elements of the earth. Brain matter when undergoing the decomposion process converts to maggot food, dirt, etc. But what happens to the charge? We need an analogy. Lets say the brain is like a stream of light emitted from a source. When the source goes out or it is broken the light goes out. However, when can still detect an EMF field near the source. My point is this our brains or minds or what have you is not made up of physical matter only. There`s a charge as well. It seems quite odd to think the charge converts to maggot food - so what happens to it, what does it convert too. Remeber, energy never dies it must convert.

I never got a good answer to this- were they trying to frame the Indians for some reason? Is it some kind of metaphor? Did they do it just for kicks? Help.

I have an interest in history and have spent may an hour wandering through my village looking at its history. One day when walking through the ruined church's graveyard i uncovered an gravestone marked by the classic symbol for death etc. a skull and crossbones. I thought about what it meant but was totally stumped as i could not think of why a grave was marked with it, especially in a church graveyard. I payed a visit to the local archives but to no avail, there was very little about this gravestone in the archive documents. I would really like to know why this grave was marked in this way. The grave is very worn but i could just about make it out to be 18th-19th century.
