My most recent choice! To cut my losses & accept "blood under the bridge." I've always had a propensity to fight for justice, however long it took. But I finally realized, in evaluating all those "fights," even a rare win wasn't worth the time, stress &--usually--money, as these were legal matters. I will never again, (hopefully not put myself in a position of making that decision), fight a war for which I might have a 50% chance to be victorious. Enjoying life is far more precious. This was much easier than I'd have imagined in the past. In fact, it's quite "freeing."

I believe the best choice I have ever made was the decision to look past what I had been told growing up to a more open frame of mind

The best decision I ever made was to correct the worst one I ever made. I decided to get divorced after 51 weeks with my husband. We rushed in to marriage, and he clearly wasn't ready. Afer we married, I learned he had a lot of problems that he'd hidden from me. He had a lot of issues from childhood, like watching his dad rape his half-sister and beating his mom & half-brothers. He was really messed up, and refused to get help. He lied about what he did at work, and got fired for stealing. Then he wouldn't look for another fulltime job, only working 16 hours a week at his part time job... He tried to commit suicide by overdosing for my birthday 3 weeks after I moved out. I'm not heartless. If the guy would've gone for help for himself, I wouldn't have left.
I've never doubted that decision. It was by far the best one I have ever made.
