i personally do, because i have been doing ballet for over 10 years, and dancing is way harder than football.

what do you think and why?

Hmmm. Different skills are involved, of course. Both require superior athletic ability to be done well. However, dance requires greater flexibility, more refined movements--more difficult than running, evading, plus violence--and a certain artistic sense, unneeded in FB.

While players have to have numerous plays memorized, they are far less complex, individually, than entire dance routines.

And, much more.

I've played football and lacrosse--i also "tried" jazz dance--and have spent years doing martial arts, which is somewhat closer to dance than the other two. Based on my experience, i had a much harder time with the dance than the others---i was least competent at the dance, alas :)))

i honestly can't say on this one, i have been dancing for over 10 years also.
dancing is hard because it takes a lot of endurance
but so does football
dancing requires some stamina, and so does football
dancing requires a lot of balance, so does football
do we gotta run though? not necessarily
do the football players need to be flexible? not necessarily
the only thing is that dancing usually takes years and years of intense pratcice, and football probably not so much.
dancing and football are almost equal, but, dancing and football are 2 totally different things.

I think dance is harder than football because you have to learn different techniques and you have to have a good memory. Unlike football players who really just tackle each other. I ve been dancing for almost 5 years and 6 months.

Football might seem easier in the begining i mean you pretty just run and try to catch the ball but its not. if you really want to succeed at it you have to word hard football requires agility, strength, speed, stamina, football is also mentally you have to think about where the play is going to happen they both require skill but i think that football is a little more difficult. Dancing might be harder in the begining because if your new to it and have never really danced before it will be hard.

Did you play football? If no - you can't compare with any degree of accuracy.
I don't know, because I never played football.
It goes the other way around, too. Those who play football but don't dance shouldn't claim that dancing is easier than football.
I'm waiting to hear from someone who did both. Kellie's answer is the most unbiased so far because she did neither.

there is no comparison. football requires mind for strategy. you have to think of plays, and follow them, and work as a team. football is more mathematical, and dancing is not. dancing is an art of being fit, graceful, and strong...you must pay attention to every move you make, and follow through every move so that you dont hurt yourself. dancing is usually an individual thing, and football is not. PERSONALLY, it depends on what kind of person you are...football requires very little preciseness and accuracy, you just ram into people to get the ball through a fork on the other end of the field. dancing however, especially in pointe, requires lots of skill and preciseness....

BASICALLY, football in general is no easier than dance, and dance is no easier than football. it depends on whether the person is right or left brained, and skilled in mathematics or the arts. simple as that.

yes definitely!!! in football what do you have to be able to do? run, catch, kick a little? and in the process get beat up a bit? thats nothing campared to gaining flexibility. you know that's painful. you also have to remember the steps to every dance. there are no planned steps in football. dancing is also tiring. personally ive never been in too many dances that were at one performance, but there are girls at my studio who are in 13-15 dances. at competition theyre up early and they leave very late-some as late as 12 am. during the competition is crazy for them with back to back dances the changes of costumes plus the makeup feels like a load on your face and the piles of gel make you want to rip your hair right out of your head. i had one dance class where we had a ballerina come in to teach us. she was the most strict, mean ballet teacher ever. we got screamed at if we were too fat!! you need to stay skinny in dance. reallyyyy skinny. it was a 2 hour class and we were sweating like pigs, but she didnt let us have water until the class was over!! id like to see a football player last one day in a ballet class.

I've done neither. But I would guess that Dancing would be much more difficult. You may get more injurys playing football. But Dancing would require more discipline and poise. You have to keep yourself in physical condition. Your body is strong but delicate at the same time. You don't wear padding and you don't have a season. You dance and dance and dance.

i have also been dancing for a long time and i do think that dance is harder than football because you need to build all of the strength needed for it and for football you really just need to be strong, run, and know the rules of the game...
