Going home for the holidays, going to church, and visiting my friends' families are not options for me. My family of origin is very unhealthy. While I am on a spiritual path, I no longer believe in organized religion or the institutional church.

Yet, I do still love Christmas. It is a truly holy day, a spiritual day, for me--honoring the birth of Jesus (Y'shua) the Christ. Yeah, yeah, I know that Dec. 25 is prob. not the day He was actually born. Nevertheless this is the day most of us celebrate His holy birth, and the birth of all he represents: love, light, peace, liberation, goodwill toward all human kind.

I perform the next day, so I will be with friends then. What can I do on Christmas Day--to honor the day and to keep the holiday blues at bay?

For ex., for Thanksgiving I am going to Ithaca, NY (very cool) for a much needed mini-vacation in beautiful upstate NY with a friend fr. India who is also on his own for the holidays.

We have a two year old son who loves his grandparents more than anything. And they love and spoil him to death! They ask me to bring the baby over all the time. anyways... i was over there cooking dinner for the whole family! (i get bored cooking for 2 1/2) sooo... my SIL (sister in law) came storming in the house and said "I hope you have enough for my friends that are coming over." of course i didn't. then she opended the fridge and spilt what was in the side door. and then said "god dammit kristina pick up this f*ing mess." and i told her to do, so she let the dogs lick it up. i was floored. So i went outside for a breath before i killed her, and then came back in cooked dinner and then we ate. i cleaned up dinner and was getting the babys stuff together, and she said "Hey why don't you stop bringin that kid over here i can't sleep when he's here, i don't know why you can't take care of your own child, and when you have the next kid i am moving out" WE LIVE FAR AWAY

If it was in your hands to stop the war, what would you to stop it or how would you stop it?
If possible for you, please e-mail this question to your friends and ask your friends to e-mail it to their friends. I want to see what people would do if they could stop the war.

Sincerely,

My Grandpa thought the phone was witchcraft. He lived in a rural area and they didn't have phone service until he was in his 60s. He couldn't understand how two people on opposite sides of town could talk to each other over a wire.

Right now I know an elderly gentleman who thinks microwave ovens, dishwashers, garbage disposals, and toliet paper are all witchcraft.

I know several elderly people who think makeup is witchcraft.

How many of you know someone who makes witchcraft accusations?

I'm wondering what you know about these two presidents and what you think of their "accomplishments" and things while they were in office. Do you think they were good presidents? What do you think of their actions?

In America, the price of healthy foods has skyrocketed and the government is doing very little to help the poor so many poor people can only afford things from a stupid dollar menu! Also, many Americans have problems even affording dollar menu items! I'm American and sadly, I don't get to eat too much since I prefer healthy foods over fast foods. My family and I don't make enough money to eat a decent amount of healthy food. I'm sorry for ranting, but foreigners, please educate yourselves about the decline of the American economy before you spew out your oral diarrhea!

I have a question with terminology relating to sports predictions. Let's say the Miami Dolphins are playing at the Houston Texans and experts pick "Houston minus the 7." Does this mean that the line was for Houston to win by 7? Does this indicate that the experts predict Houston to win, but not by 7? What if Houston was picked to win "plus the 7?" Who decides what "the line" should be? Vegas? Thanks for the help!

I am making mushrooms as a side for dinner tonight. Dinner is garlic mashed potatoes with crab-stuffed salmon pinwheels. That stuff should take about a half hour to cook. Any way I can bake a side of mushrooms in the meantime? How? Preferably something flavorful.

Hello everyone
A lot of my friends are on the "a small world" network, and I would really appreciate it if one of you trusted members could help me join. The reason I'm so desperate to get in is the following: I'm looking for an accomodation in Paris, and it's a lot easier through a small world (less competition!). I also would like to be able to build a network of my friends in it. Could anybody help me? I would be so grateful:)

I am a guy who just turned 20. I recalled a time when I was 13 when these things started growing and I trimmed them a bit for only once. And now, it has grown quite long. I just want to ask if I have to trim it, shave it, pluck it, wax it or what? I am just afraid it might itch or bother when it will be a bit sharper as it grows since its thicker and sharper. please share openly with no malice. Thanks.

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor.

Before she says a word, Bob says, "I'll give you $800 to drop that towel. "

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, "Who was that?"

"It was Bob the next door neighbor," she replies.

"Great!" the husband says, "did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?"

Moral of the story :

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"

The priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak"

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129

It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory."

Moral of the story:

If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, "I'll give each of you just one wish."
"Me first! Me first!" says the admin clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world."
Puff! She's gone.

"Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life."

Puff! He's gone.

"OK, you're up," the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch."

Moral of the story:

Always let your boss have the first say.
Lesson 4

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: "Sure , why not."

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:

BullShit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of **** is your friend.

(3) And when you're in deep ****, it's best to keep your mouth shut!
