There is no reason to believe that this activity has begun just in the last few decades. The number of young and innocent victims must certainly number in the many thousands. According to the bible "god" has killed people for far lesser offenses (and in some cases for no offense at all) than child molestation, which surely is one of the most repugnant of all human acts. Yet "god", as omnipotent as he is supposed to be, has done nothing, and cases of child molestation are still coming to light. He acted swiftly and with vengence in biblical stories, but oddly, he does nothing now. Assuming that "god" is displeased and angered by this (as any decent and loving "god" would be), why hasn't he done something about it? If he can create the universe, and all that is in it, why doesn't he stop little boys from being victimized by his own representatives?
