We are both 23, we both have good income and we both graduated w/ BA degrees. I just found out that I'm about 6 wks pregnant and it came as a shocker to both of us: we are not married and I am on birth control! After I told him, he said he needed to clear his head and ended up calling his parents in the mean time. He and his parents are both very religious Lutherans and now he is FORCING the idea of adoption on me. He said that if I decide to follow through with my wishes to parent the child that he will not be in our childs life. His reasoning is that he's "not ready" (his reasonings were: we live and work too far away from each other--1 hour, we're too young, not married, and we still like to go out w/ friends to bars and stuff on the weekends). I just don't understand, RELIGIOUSLY, isn't the morally correct thing to do to be responsible for the life you created. Isn't it God's gift? How can both him and his family disown a child? Is it just b/c we're not married?

My 16 year old son and I were talking the other day about a show he was hooked on when he was maybe 4 or so. It was about a guy who was a monster (not the Hulk) and he was toxic or something. He would come around when people needed help, then disappear again. I keep thinking about the toxic or slime part.....can anyone help? It's driving us crazy!!

My son is 15 and cares about absolutely nothing. He has been a manipulative charmer since he was a toddler. He simply refuses to do tasks (eg. homework) and simply takes whatever punishments given to him. We can strip his room of everything but his mattress and clothes, take away access to tv, phone, or any friends, and we can give him chores as punishment until the end of time. We have no other options other than beatings, which we of course are not going to do. I personally think he is a sociopath.

His mother and I sent him to a military boarding school for high school so they could "break" his will and make him conform. However, they find themselves having a kid who just won't do anything - give him pushups, marching in the rain, whatever. He just doesn't care.

He has been examined for depression - no. Psychiatrists have even become frustrated to where they don't even want to deal with him because he is such a headache.

Anyone else seen this? We are at our wits end

The Immaculate Conception Argument

I have a hard time with that. What is the point of Jesus if he could have just prevent us from sinning? Why bother dying on the cross? Why fulfill the law if he could prevent the breaking of it?

Gal 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

For a while I could understand the analogy of a pit.

One might fall in the pit, and need rescued, and another could almost fall in but be caught, so that they to were rescued but never went into it. The pit being a picture of sin, but then why couldn't God do that for us without the death of his son? You see?

You know how deep a hole you are in by the length of the rope that pulls you out. Jesus came and pulled us out.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I am four months pregnant and out of work. I plan to work after my child is born while also attending school. Having the income would obviously help out a lot.

I am already showing and in maternity clothing. Since it may already be obvious to an employer that I'm pregnant can they discriminate against me because of it? Do I have to disclose to them that I'm pregnant? Do they have the right to ask me if I'm pregnant? I do plan to work until I'm ready to deliver and then come back after I've had some time to get the baby setteled.

Thanks for your input!

Is all humans are about is simply getting even with each other? What happened to love your neighbor and God? Even Islam teaches do unto others like you want done to you (in different words). Is peace the light at the end of this dark tunnel? Or is that just another neon beer sign?
