yes to both. I am going to give you my standard answer.......go get a book called "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you truly understand your body and cycle and erase all the myths that women beleive about their bodies.I believed all the ovulation & conception myths that are floating around here until we tried for a year with no luck. My doctor recommended the book and it worked the very next month! It turned out my timing was wrong and that I don't ovulate in the middle of my cycle like most women.
I'll be 40 in Nov....and I am due to have my 4th in March!

If you ovulate you will have a period but you can have a period with out ovulating. Its call anovulatory cycle. Its when women take longer to release an egg. You estrogen levels could be low which is why you might not be ovulating. Your periods will be irregular. Say 30 one month then 36 next then 32 after that. Best way to fix things is to see a doctor and they will prolly give you provera to get things moving normal or trying the pill. Best of luck.

yes you can have a period and not ovulate, and yes you can ovulate and not get a period.

If you ovulate and don't get a period 14 days after you have conceive, but if you don't get pregnant you miss your fertile window. wvwn if you had sex on your open window day you only have a 20-25% chance on conceiving each month.

If you have a period and not ovulate chances are your cycles may be iregguler, late periods are very confusing exzpecailly when ttc, most ladies think a miss period is due because they conceive, but late periods can be because you didn't ovulate
