I am planning to buy a good pioneer amplifier with the Jamo i300 system. I assume that the music – coming from my iPod – will be pretty good. But can I also you the Jamo speakers (and the subwoofer) for when watching a DVD on HD TV? How good would be the sound? And last but not least, can I add 3 more White cube Jamo speakers (or Bose for example) to create a 5.1 system and get a good surround sound system? Thanks.

I had a look at your manual but couldn't figure a way to set up your system the way you want to with the i300.You can connect the DVD and HD TV through the i300 but they would not release their true potential. You could try to sell or part exchange the i300 and, as you like the sound of the Jamo's, you could then purchase their 5.1 speaker system (A102 HcS5) and a proper 5.1 or 7.1 Home Cinema Amplifier. Connect your DVD and HD TV to this and be prepared to be blown away with the sound. If you have trouble getting rid of the i300 use it in another room for casual listening.

That i300 system will only be a 2.1 system, ever. It is a PC speaker set adapted to work with a iPod dock.

I am curios just how you thought the receiver would hook to this system at all?

You could look at other jamo products to work with the receiver. Purchasing a powered sub and sat speakers or bookshelf's would be a start. but not one with a i at the front, those are designed for iPod only.

There are issues greater useful than embody sound too, in spite of the indisputable fact that on your question, the respond is user-friendly Dolby digital embody Sound 7.a million if no longer, choose for 5.a million in my opinion, i like DTS greater useful yet it is by using the gap I even have. extremely some issues make a distinction on what feels maximum suitable for examnple, the acoustic high quality of the room, area to run wires around, the furnishings, all make certain in spite of if a million dollar theater equipment will sound like a duck or no longer.

I hate to disillusion you, but the sound from your iPod will be rotten. All types of mp3 player are designed for storage capacity, not sound quality. iPods are the worst of the lot.

If you actually want to enjoy your music, you will need CDs or vinyl (and stay away from Bose, too...).
