I see many questions trying to disprove people's beliefs. I wonder what people are looking to get in resonse to stating something like... "Here is the proof that what you believe in is FALSE". Be it against christians, muslims, atheists, etc. I see the same thing happening. The people that believe what you believe will agree. The people that don't believe what you believe will call you a dope.

Are people assuming that they'll convert someone out of their religion or lack thereof? Because i think most people sign off of yahoo answers still believing what they believed before so, again, what's the point of even posting certain things...

I guess some people just enjoy poking fun, but some people seem really determined to show you the error of your belief. So i'm honestly wondering what it's for? Are people trying to "expose your beliefs for what they are" or something? because more than likely, you've heard everything out there.

What are people's motives for these questions??

(I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but i've seen a lot of people like this and I never knew the in's and out's and it) Why, when guys get married, they figure their life is over. Why'd they get married in the first place? Girls seem to be more easy going about this but still. I'm not trying to be sexist or anything, I was just wondering from married point of views.

I want to know if anyone knows what the chances are that my boyfriend will deploy or not...or if anyone knows what happens with these hearing tests.....here's my story:
Before his first deployment to iraq, his hearing was NOT good, he failed his first test and he was suppose to go back to the ear doctor for a 2nd test but the lady giving him the test didn't even DO the paperwork! (Which the lady who gave him the ear test this month told him he should have never been deployed in the 1st place! & that she was an idiot!) So now hes deploying again this month, BUT he took his hearing test and FAILED it of course, after a yr of being in iraq. The lady said his hearing has gotten worse & hes scheduled to go back for a 2nd test from the ear doc next week. This determines whether he leaves or not. I'm so stressed yet hopeful that he will fail, he thinks he's going to because he knows his hearing has gotten worse, he speaks louder than he used to, & he hears ringing sometimes.

Based on my research I was under the impression that the Fed Reserve is privately owned.. But this is the response I recieved "The Federal Reserve System is not privately owned. Like every other federal department it does business with and through private institutions. Fed net revenues are rebated to treasury - not paid in dividends to shareholders so it is not a "for profit" business. Inflation rates have been lower and more stable in the last 30 years than most of history. All banks create money out of nothing. M1 - the amount of currency and federal bank guarantees in the economy has not grown substantially since the early1990s."

Is this accurate?

As the flood of ILLEGAL immigrants rises in the USA, the government seems to turn a deaf ear towards the worries of American citizens about the effects on employment, environment, and other resources. Do you think that citizens will become so fed up that they will take matters into their own hands in numbers larger than the minuteman groups? Do you predict another "civil war" between citizens and illegals? I would like to know what your predictions are for this country if things keep going the way they are. Please try not to make this a racial thing this is about American citizens and Illegal immigrants regardless of what race they all are. Thank You!

If so, how is it possible? If the couple can agree to "terms" themselves and don't have the money to hire divorce attorneys is it possible for them to do the petitioning, filing, etc. on their own. Where may they get their hands on these forms? What about if they are expecting a child? Is it possible for them to do it on their own if they agree to custody arrangements?

You atheists believe that there is scientific reasons for all miracles that occur out of prayer and faith. So how do you explain someone being so overcome with the presence of God that they suddenly are able to speak in a lanquage they have never studied or never seen, and understand every word they are speaking. Not only that, but others around often understand perfectly as well. I have seen this many times, it is a true and common occurance, so how do you explain that?

Many of us have accused Christians of indoctrinating their children, but I've just learned that Christians are actually against indoctrination:

My girlfriend has become more and more distant in the past few weeks. Every time I try to kiss her she turns away. Every time I try to get her to tell me what's wrong she ignores me or gives me the silent treatment. It's really causing me a lot of stress but we've been together for 3 years.

Should I dump her and get this **** over with or is there something I haven't thought of?
