why do men think all they have to do is brag about their car,how many weights they lift to get their muscles and money and expect women to throw themselves at them?

For ten years, I have put up with my very good looking husband enjoy too much attention from women. He claims he cannot help how the women act. I say, there have been too many occasions that add up to my suspecting that he asks for all of the attention. Women will do anything for him - help him get jobs, write college essays (years ago), etc. He just marvels and lets them. He claims he is not a flirt, but he does get people - kids, men, women, anyone - to be very close to him very quickly. People feel very comfortable with him because of his personality. I am tired of being suspicious and jealous. I have stayed this last year for the kids. I am suffering because of being married to him too much. I am not too bad looking, either - but I would love to be with an unattractive man who worships the ground I walk on - not other women worshipping the ground my husband walks on. My husband claims I'm a jealous freak - I think he needs to pull in the reins.

My co-worker is getting married and i'm invited, along with other peole we work with. I always thought that if it's just your name on the invitation, if it doesn't say + guest, the only person invited is you. But another co-worker of ours told me today that it's standard fare to come to a wedding with someone, whether or not their name was on your invitation. The wedding is this Sunday and i don't want to stress out the bride by bringing this up to her last minute like this. What should i do? Is it generally assumed that you're bringing a guest to a wedding? I already sent out my rsvp card with only my name on it. Is it too late to change that? Help!!!

I don't have anything against organized religion per se. We all need something in our lives. I personally just have not accepted that belief. But I'm one of the few.”
-- Lance Armstrong, Time, Sept. 29, 2003

“I don't believe in heaven and hell. I don't know if I believe in God. All I know is that as an individual, I won't allow this life--the only thing I know to exist--to be wasted.”
-- George Clooney, profile in Washington Post (September 28, 1997)

“If some good evidence for life after death were announced, I'd be eager to examine it; but it would have to be real scientific data, not mere anecdote. As with the face on Mars and alien abductions, better the hard truth, I say, than the comforting fantasy. And in the final tolling it often turns out that the facts are more comforting than the fantasy.”
-- Carl Sagan, "The Fine Art of Baloney Detection," from The Demon-Haunted World: Science As A Candle In The Dark, 1996

“Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world's estimation, and publicly and privately, in season and out, avow their sympathy with despised and persecuted ideas and their advocates, and bear the consequences.”
-- Susan B. Anthony.,The Life and Work of Susan B. Anthony, Vol. I, page 197, edited by Ida Hustad Harper (1908). (Also see Women Without Superstition: "No Gods - No Masters".)

“Leave the matter of religion to the family altar, the Church, and the private schools, supported entirely by private contributions. Keep the church and state forever separate.”
-- Ulysses S, Grant, address delivered in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1875

“My parents did not practice any organized religion, although my father was raised Roman Catholic and my mother was Jewish. But there was always an ethical context to our lives, a very strong notion of individual moral responsibility.”
-- Harrison Ford, Parade, July 7, 2002

“When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.”
-- Benjamin Franklin, Works, Vol. XIII, p. 506

“This loathsome combination of Church and State.”
-- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) to C. Clay, 1815

“I don't believe in God now.”
-- Jack Nicholson, Vanity Fair, 1992 (cited in Who's Who in Hell edited by William Allen Smith)

“Talking to god is crazy.
Hearing god is schizophrenia.
Acting on it is insanity.”
-- Robert Patterson

“Faith is believing what you know ain't so.”
-- Mark Twain, "Puddinhead Wilson's New Calendar," I, Ch. 12, p. 132, Following the Equator, (1894).

“I am happy that I can aid those admirable men, both living and dead, who by their pens or their tongues have aided the great cause of human liberty and universal happiness.”
-- James Watson, "A Voice from the Bastille," February 23, 1833

“Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are caused by difference of sentiment in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and ought most to be deprecated. I was in hopes that the enlightened and liberal policy which has marked the present age would at least have reconciled Christians of every denomination, so far that we should never again see their religious disputes carried to such a pitch as to endanger the peace of society.”
-- George Washington, letter to Sir Edward Newenham, Oct. 20, 1792.

Were they friends, enemies, etc???

Also, were there socities of witches and/or vampires in communities or large towns where they would come to gather and discuss issues.
I'm not meaning a Sabbath persay but more like a Lion's Club of today. Like a Vampire Council or something that you see in movies like Blade, but based in fact and/or legend.
Where were these meeting places located? Anyone know of any tales to help me???

At least one Hispanic group supports Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigrant hotline.

The group You Don't Speak for Me showed up at the his downtown office, Wednesday, to praise his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration.

Members of the group met with the sheriff outside his office to offer him their encouragement and support.

Anna Gaines with the group says the immigration hotline is a good idea. "I support it 100 percent. And I feel this is the rule of law. We have to enforce it."

A report that FM News/Talk 92.3 aired Wednesday said that increased illegal immigration enforcement left fewer people on America's farms and was a factor in higher groceries prices.

Gaines says that's not true. "I go to the stores and see people that just came here from Mexico or from another country with five, six little children and they use their food card to buy groceries. That's why the groceries are so high, not because illegals aren't working."

"They use a lot of food stamps. They use the food program. They use all the benefits that we have for our citizens and they are overused. We are really going poor. We are growing very poor every year be because of illegals being here using the benefits they use."

Critics say the sheriff's hotline that allows the public to report illegal immigrants will lead to racial profiling.

Gaines says those claims are made because the anti-hotline groups have nothing else as a defense.

...or "dear" or "love"? I've been trying to figure out what makes the difference between the instances that it bothers me and those when it does not, and I really can't put my finger on the difference between being patronizing/ sexist and just being nice in an old-fashioned way. I know the difference when I experience it, though! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
