Usually it's the "B" vitamins that work. But instead of just building up on only B's, get yourself a good multi-vitamin with minerals. Eat good, sleep good, get some exercise. Stay off junk food and sugary things like soft drinks, tea and coffee.

This is just an off-the-wall thought here, get to your doctor and have a general exam. Ask them what's missing (what vitamins from your system). Sometimes a low level of infection could cause a person to be jittery, or stress, strain or glare, hormonal changesl, the need for glasses even, or even an allergy..

This may or may not work but I used it to help quit smoking when I found out that tobacco contains a lot of lithium.

Green bell peppers also contain lithium and I would eat one a day when I was quitting the cigs. I cannot prove it but feel that it did help. I would cut them up, get rid of all the inside stuff and then fry them or boil them a little. Fried and added to a hamburg (pepper burger...hmmmm, good) or just as a side dish with a little salt and butter.

u know, I've been off the cigs for almost three years but right now I am craving a pepper burger, oh great, now I'm addicted to bell peppers...LOL

How about a little mind workout?

Anxiety and irritability are both a result of worrying and thinking negative thoughts.

Medications only mask the symptoms. They are not a cure.

Try 3 deep breaths. When you are anxious or tense, you tend to take very shallow breaths.

Try a progressive muscle relaxation exercise.

Learn a meditation technique. Very good for getting in touch with you feelings.

Try going for a long walk.

I have tried many supplements. I am afraid nothing works better than the old fashioned remedies like valium, codiene, and other assorted items. Over the counter items really don't help with serious problems. You should ask a doctor.
