He's wide awake at that time and probably bored or lonely. He might also want something to eat.

It means that he is a caller, its normal and some cats just call late at night or early in the morning. He probably wants to know that everyone is ok and that everything is well. Sometimes a reassuring pat will calm them down

It's kitty alarm clock. She's waiting for you to get up and play.

A lot of cats like to get up at dawn if they sleep at night. Mine does too. I've just ignored her enough that she's learned that she needs to hear me wake up before she comes and places 'pounce on my head time.'

You can try to reset your cats internal clock by making your kitty stay up during the day. Cats are nocturnal creatures by habit and would love to stay up all night and sleep all day. Wake her up and play with her, especially in the evening to reset her clock. Mind you, it will take a little while to start making some progress.

If you feed her special food in the morning, i.e. canned food, she may decide that dawn is the approriate feeding time. Another fact of life I've learned from kitties. Again, ignore her and she will eventually learn she can't have it then and will have to wait till you get up.

I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but when my bf stays over, he tells me that she was acting up around 5 in the morning. He tells me I mumble at her in my sleep. And my cat, who is rather underweight, has dry food all the time. She just wants the humans to get up.

Your cat wants to go outside. 5 AM is hunting time for them. This is when the birds and animals come out. I suggest you pet her (to comfort her) and shake your head and firmly say "no." She will hopefully pick up the meaning. You could also have her stay in another room during the night so that she can't wake you up in morning.

(My cat always does this to me. I now have her sleep in my basement so that she doesn't wake me up).

My cat wakes me up too. He just wants attention. His sister, a little calico, is usually sleeping by my head and she won't let him on the bed... so he cries from the hallway. I get up, pick him up, give him some kissies, walk him around and then he goes back to sleep. Also, I'll wake him in the early evening and let him chase his mousie or ball for awhile too.

Your cat might want some fresh food or fresh water or some tlc time with you.
Does your cat sleep in your room? If not maybe your cat is trying to tell you it wants to cuddle too.
We've had some kittens at our house as guests this summer and they meow early in the mornings wanting to play with one another or sometimes it's their way of saying "meow, where is everybody?"

Maybe your cat wants more U time...

enjoy =^^=

hugs & purrs,

He just wants Love!

Or maybe he is hungry or thirsty... or He has a dirty litterbox

Dont lock your cat in a room, that isnt right... He'll probably meow anyway.

Just pet him a little and he'll probably sleep next to you.

Good luck♥♥

He wants attention. He wants food. My cat always wants to play and eat at 4am. Just give him/her food and a quick pet and go back to bed. Shut your door, and use earplugs if he doesn't stop. He'll eventually give up trying.
