i have a phillips dvd player that has an hdmi output to transform regular movies into hd movies. can i also play movies that are already in hd?

For years I've been buying Fuji cd blanks and stuck to Fuji. It said All Purpose 80 Min 700 mb. I had no problem, using it to record from Sony cd recorder/player. They must have taken it off the market. Bought Maxell CD-R also 80 min 700mb..but recorder doesn't record.Recently I bought TDK CD-R 80 min, 700mb and works fine...but it does say music on outer label.
So do I have to be extra careful in that it should say music or all purpose from now on? Wouldn't you think 80 Min 700mb would be exactly the same for ALL cd blanks?

I have many video files which I would I find are much too large, I would like to compress them to about 110MB for 20 minutes (which I've seen done before with AVI's) without any visible loss to quality (Its animation)
Any suggestions for codec, settings etc, and please do not say Xvid or DivX, I find both impossible to achieve good results with.

go there and look at the end of the thing the part where u put it in the wall. can that go in the outlet in your house in america? to me it doesnt look like an american plug.

I own a Pioneer VSX-D902S A/V receiver that I purchased in 1993, along with a PD-TM2 18-disc changer that has served me well for almost 15 years. Last night, the remote that controls both units tanked out on me for good. I tried changing the batteries, and even the good old, time-tested repair of slapping the remote against my hand, but it is not responding to any commands.

I would like to purchase a universal remote that will control both of these units. An added bonus would be a remote that controls my Philips DVD player, as well as my Sony WEGA TV. Any recommendations for these specific devices would be greatly appreciated.

I installed a Nutone 1250 watt heater as a replacement in a ceiling fixture. I used a 6 ft extension cord of 14 guage. I attached 1 end to the heater and plugged the plug in to the ceiling receptacle. Do I have enough guage in my wire for this heater? Should I have used a 12 guage wire? Thanks for any answers.

Hi i like recording music...and people say I have a good voice and I think its alright...but when I record it just sound really really dull! So what do I need to get as far as effects....right now I am using a E822s Senthisiser mic and going striegt through a yamaha mixer. I don't really want to spend more then $50 bucks if that possible and if not tell me the cheapest (good sounding) Thanks!!!

I have a camcorder and the instructions to recharge the batteries is to connect one end of the cable to the camcorder and the other plugs into a USB port. I have a number of USB ports on my computer. My question is can I plug the cable into any one of the USB ports that I have on my computer?

I've just bought an "ONN - SW8411HDR" DVD Recorder from my local ASDA today, as my old one went up in a puff of smoke.

Anyone know the Multi-region code for this machine???
as I do have alot of Region 1 DVDs, but, since my old player blew up (which was a multi-region player) I can't play them anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have 4 speakers and a subwoofer hooked up to my computer. When I play some music online like from yahoo videos or aol videos, there are only a couple songs that actually come through the speakers. Why is this? All the other songs go through the monitor speaker. And it sounds terrible. Does it have anything to do with the song itself or the feed thats coming from these sites? I need to feel the vibration!
