I have many video files which I would I find are much too large, I would like to compress them to about 110MB for 20 minutes (which I've seen done before with AVI's) without any visible loss to quality (Its animation)
Any suggestions for codec, settings etc, and please do not say Xvid or DivX, I find both impossible to achieve good results with.

110 MB in 20 Min, corresponds to about 0.73 Mbits/sec.
As a comparison, DVD movies are at 6 Mbits/s
VCDs are about 1.5 Mbits/s

So, this is VERY aggressive.

a) Reduce the picture resolution. 720x480 is not going to cut it no matter what. Try 360x240 or even lower.

b) Use WMV or even better try h.264
