Is an electric typewriter an essential office item anymore with current computer technology? If so what can an electric typewriter do that a computer can't?

I have a Phillips CD clock radio that seemed to just quit working one day. I unplugged it and put it aside for several weeks. I then plugged it back in and it worked fine for about 2-3 days. I unplugged it again for a few weeks and it worked again, for a few days. So, any ideas as to what is going on here? If there is something that I can replace, I would be able to do it, even though I am not really experienced in repairing electronics. Thanks for any help you can give.

I know it is TV, but is this all that can be HD? And is the picture really, noticeably different than a normal TV? Are HD and digital the same thing?

Will videos/ DVDs/ old Playstations hooked up to an HD TV be better than with a normal TV, and how much can I get a HD TV for, in the UK? Thanks!

Hello, I am a grad student at Regent University in their journalism program. I am working on a piece for class about how technologically wired a person can get. I'd appreciate it if some of you out there can tell me if you think that we, as a society, are becoming too dependent on technology and if we can incorporate -- and afford-- all of the available gadgets in our lives. We're not talking about refrigerators or vacuums but media devices, like iPhones, cell phones that do everything, iPods, portable DVD players, etc.
I decided to ask this online since, well, this is an example of our being technologically wired. But, really, how much is too much? Feel free to e-mail me as well with more thoughts at steplon@regent.edu
Have a good night and thanks! :-)

My DSM520 connects just fine to the D-Link media server on my PC but after 15 to 20 minutes it loses connection to media server. I cannot figure out why. PC is running Windows XP SP2. Have turned off firewall to be sure that is not the problem. I tested the same DSM520 connecting to a laptop PC running XP SP2 and does not have the disconnect problem. In fact laptop will go into hibernation and DSM520 will pick up video stream where it was left off when laptop is taken out of hibernation without losing connection. I cannot figure out what is the difference between the two PCs.

Hi. I'm so upset. I've just purchased a Chi iron from Amazon, and it's on its way to Singapore. Then i realised it works on 110 v, and Singapore's voltage is 220v. AND someone said converters/ adaptors do not work on CHI! I'm devastated. Did anyone sucessfully used a CHI iron overseas on a 220V with a converter?

You get to go back in time, lets say 1980's, the beginning of the computer era. You can only bring back one device.

If you bring a cell phone, you only get the cell phone. You don't get the antennas to make it work.
