I have a Phillips CD clock radio that seemed to just quit working one day. I unplugged it and put it aside for several weeks. I then plugged it back in and it worked fine for about 2-3 days. I unplugged it again for a few weeks and it worked again, for a few days. So, any ideas as to what is going on here? If there is something that I can replace, I would be able to do it, even though I am not really experienced in repairing electronics. Thanks for any help you can give.

hold down the power button for six seconds
then, with all your might, try and force the LED screen back inside (assuming it's popped out)

hold down both the minute and hour button until the time returns to 00:00. Then set your own time. It should be working now.

Are you meaning a total loss of power or just the clock going back to default? Next time it quits, don't wait so long to un-plug it and plug it back in and see what happens. Many clock radios have a back up battery to help them keep time during a short power outage and they don't work right when that battery fails. Since this has been laid up for weeks at a time with no power going to it, I'd check the battery situation. The other option would be a over current or thermal runaway problem that takes several days to shut it down and that can be a bear to find. I run into that with motorcycle radios etc. that run the bike's battery down in a short time.

It seems to me that your device has a power supply problem. It is a dry soldered connection because a resistor or a voltage regulator overheated. It can be also the thermal protection of the transformer.Anyway, you have to take it apart and check all those thinks and make new solders or replace the transformer. My advice:take it to a service center!
