I hooked up my PC to my 50'' HDTV, and there is a spot in the back of the TV for "PC Audio". But, when I plug speakers into that spot, nothing happens. Do I need a cable that connects directly from the PC to the TV and then the sound will come out of the speakers? If so, what kind of cable do I need?

I have 2 gigantic PA speakers I won in a contest. I've had them for a long time but I never even used them. What do I need to get some sound into them? Do I have to buy an av reciever or some kind of thing to power them? I don't get it. They don't appear to have any power input in them, they only have 1/4" audio plugs.

I have a camcorder that uses Mini-DV cassettes. I take a lot of video, so these cassettes fill up rather quickly. I'm looking for a permanent video storing solution that is both cost effective and not prone to failing (thus losing my video).

Here are my options.
1. Leave them on the cassette.
2. Transfer them to an external HD (assuming I'd be using a fairly high resolution transfer)
3. Transfer them to DVD.

Which would be most cost effective? 10 points to the best answer. Please describe how you reached your conclusion.
Thanks!

What is the difference between a dvd and a blueray disc? Will a blueray disc work in a dvd player, or do you have to have a special player? Will a blueray disc run if I put it in a PC?

It's brand new. I've never even been able to use it because I can't get it to work. I've had two differant men look at the wiring and they swear it's hooked up right. I even returned my wires and bought new ones because I thought the wiring might have been bad. It will not play home-made cds/dvds or regular movie dvds. It also will not play regular movie vhs's. The only thing I can get it to play is a recorded vhs. When I try to play anything else it flashes nonstop so you cannot even see the picture. Sometimes I hear the audio from the movie sometimes I hear it from the direct tv. Somebody please tell me how to fix it. Could it be on some wrong setting or something? I've searched through the manual (vigorously through the trouble shooting manual) and I cannot find anything! Help!

I'm looking for a new battery charger. I need it to do AA/AAA batteries. I'd like it to take less than 4 hrs. to charge. The quicker the better. If possible, I'd like it to cost under $20. I have a collection of energizer batteries.

I'm looking to get one of those chargers that you plug into the wall that charges AAA and AA batteries. I know companies like Sony, Duracell, and Energizer make these.

Anyone know which is the best?

Can we charge mobile phone on an inverter / UPS which is used for a personal computer.

There are two types of mobile phone charger available.
1. Using transformer (old model) heavy weight.
2. Light weight charger (using electronic circuit instead of transformer).

Someone told me that the out put of inverter / ups is NOT pure AC. That is, not pure sine wave but similar to square wave.

If we connect the type 2 (see above) charger to the A.C.output of inverter , then it will damage the charger. (as per my friend his charger got damaged).

Could someone technically explain the cause / truth.

Hi everyone.

I've got a vague idea in my head that I want to implement, but I'm not sure if it would be possible for someone who knows nothing!

I want to make a toy (the curiosity sphere from Portal, if you're wondering) and make it to that when it gets bashed or hit or the like, it says the phrases it syas in the game...

But I have no knowledge of circuitry or electronics or the like. And the mere fact I have no clue is only spurring me on to learn about it, especially as I do best learning by doing.

Because I don't know anything about it, I don't really know what to search for (via google, Y! search etc) to find an instructional site aimed towards an absolute beginner like myself. Plus I need one that's actually worthwhile learning from.

I'm hoping that one of you lovely people will have a reccomendation for me, from your own personal experience. As I'd rather have someones review of a site.

Just as a quick side... am I being overly ambitious? lol.

(1) What's the difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs?

(2) Will those new DVDs play in a regular DVD player, and render as well on a tube TV as ordinary DVDs do?

(3) Those new ones seem to be priced higher. So are they really more expensive to produce, or are the manufacturers taking unfair advantage of the consumers?

Thanks!!
