(1) What's the difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs?

(2) Will those new DVDs play in a regular DVD player, and render as well on a tube TV as ordinary DVDs do?

(3) Those new ones seem to be priced higher. So are they really more expensive to produce, or are the manufacturers taking unfair advantage of the consumers?

Thanks!!

1. They both have higher capacity than regular DVDs. They both need a blue laser to be read. Blu-ray has higher capacity than HD DVD, but HD DVDs are cheaper to make

2. No, you need a new player (HD or Blu-Ray). These players can play on SD TVs

3. They sell fewer and volume dictates cost and price. As they become more popular prices will go down
