Do you remember the Betamax / VHS format war?
Do you remember that Betamax lost the war (although it was a better format)?
Do you remember that it was Sony who backed Betamax (you know, the one that failed)?
So, which current hi-def format is Sony backing now? 'Cos history tells us that's the one you DON'T want...

Some say Blu ray as its a cool name. I think Hd-dvd will end up the winner.
Just buy a universal player that will play both. There are a few models out now so regardless of who wins, you will be able to still watch either.
