I own a Pioneer VSX-D902S A/V receiver that I purchased in 1993, along with a PD-TM2 18-disc changer that has served me well for almost 15 years. Last night, the remote that controls both units tanked out on me for good. I tried changing the batteries, and even the good old, time-tested repair of slapping the remote against my hand, but it is not responding to any commands.

I would like to purchase a universal remote that will control both of these units. An added bonus would be a remote that controls my Philips DVD player, as well as my Sony WEGA TV. Any recommendations for these specific devices would be greatly appreciated.

One for All remote. You can get it at walmart. Search the website to see if any look good to you and I believe you can see if they have codes for your DVD player and Tv.

The highest rated universal remote is made by Logitec. If you want to go through walls get the RF capable Harmony 890Pro If you want regular line of sight go with IR capable Harmony 880Pro. Below is a Yahoo search for the 880Pro.

You just type that up on Pioneer's Item Request website. They should tell you how.
