No because the song is not about the place. There was a house of "working girls" called tipperary in london around world war 1 thats what they were singing about...

Hey, I am from Tipp and I can say no we do not sing its a long way to Tipperary. This song was British soldiers in world war 2. The song tipp people assoicate with our county in a song is called "Slievenamon". We sing this when our couty are playing our national sport Hurling. hope this helps
