At least one Hispanic group supports Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigrant hotline.

The group You Don't Speak for Me showed up at the his downtown office, Wednesday, to praise his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration.

Members of the group met with the sheriff outside his office to offer him their encouragement and support.

Anna Gaines with the group says the immigration hotline is a good idea. "I support it 100 percent. And I feel this is the rule of law. We have to enforce it."

A report that FM News/Talk 92.3 aired Wednesday said that increased illegal immigration enforcement left fewer people on America's farms and was a factor in higher groceries prices.

Gaines says that's not true. "I go to the stores and see people that just came here from Mexico or from another country with five, six little children and they use their food card to buy groceries. That's why the groceries are so high, not because illegals aren't working."

"They use a lot of food stamps. They use the food program. They use all the benefits that we have for our citizens and they are overused. We are really going poor. We are growing very poor every year be because of illegals being here using the benefits they use."

Critics say the sheriff's hotline that allows the public to report illegal immigrants will lead to racial profiling.

Gaines says those claims are made because the anti-hotline groups have nothing else as a defense.

They are true American patriots to support the laws of their home country above the country of their ancestors.

The best part is they are fighting against the preconception that all Hispanics are in favor of illegal immigration, which has NEVER been true.

Taking your husband's name when you marry has nothing to do with "trying" to be white, its a long standing tradition in most countries, and unless I'm mistaken it's the tradition in Mexico as well.

There should be more Hispanic or any type of group that supports thing like Sheriff Joe Arpaio's. If you want to be in this country you should follow the immigration laws.

My wife is a LEGAL immigrant and wants to join the minute men, she also feels that those here illegally should be deported. So if you think its just American who feel this way you are wrong. MOST immigrants who came to this country the “right” way feel those here illegally should be deported,

Hey Joe, need some help? Deputize me. I think Joe is gutsy and a true U.S. Citizen/Patriot. I believe that the Hispanics who support him are also good Patriots because they truly care about the law and the USA. This crap about racial profiling -- probable cause ensues when these people cross the border illegally from anywhere in the world -- regardless of their race, color or creed. Illegal is illegal is illegal. We want hotlines in every state and every cop to have the training to deport illegal immigrants or at least start the proceedings.

It's good to hear that the Hispanic group "You Don't Speak For Me" is sick of it all too and they are speaking the TRUTH.

I think ALL cities in ALL states should do the same thing--offer a hotline telephone number, round them up, and deport them!

Round 'em up Joe!

My opinion is they don't speak for me. Joe Arpaio lost another law suit today, he costs this country more money than illegal immigration does.

Good for them, I think the hotline is a useful tool and I think their support probably pleased the Sheriff's office.

You have to like Sheriff Joe and the people that put aside ethnicity in favor of supporting law enforcement.
Great question. I think Joe should be put in charge of DHS...
