If you teach her right then she'll accept the new addidition to the family. consult your vet for tips and tricks. when the new pup settles in, you may have to watch out becasue the maltese might be accidentally rough when theyre playing 2gether and u dont want either of them to get hurt.

So are you seeking a dog so that your out of control Maltese can beat up on it? I mean your question seems to be more geared toward you not providing proper training to your dog than a reason for getting another. Now imagine there are 2 little bullies in your house beating up your 8 year old. This is a great possibility because the other 2 could form their own little pack and decide your 8 year old is a target. This happens frequently. If you don't get your Maltese under control, don't think about getting another one. Dogs teach other bad habits.

I have Maltese and poms, they get along wonderfully. I breed the two together, and they all live in my house. All my dogs follow me into the bathroom and want to be held if i am going potty, lol. Just show both the same amount of affection, they will be buds in no time.

Yes both breeds get along very well,as both aren't known to be an agressive breed.I own several Poms and Maltese and all get along very well.

It is not a matter of two breeds getting along. Dog breeds are not like computers. If you have a Mac it won't run pc software. Dog are like people. It is like asking if an Irish will get along with a German. Or if someone from Chicago will get along with Springfield. You will have to just introduce them and watch them. There are both pretty young so they should get along just fine.

It sounds like you are pretty new to dogs though so you really should learn about dog body language. Like did you know that if a dog wags it's tail, it does not alway mean that it is happy? It could mean that it is nervous. Or that when I dog growls it is not always mad? Many dogs do a play growl. Which if you puppies get along they will do. Play growling it okay. Here is are some sites that will help you learn to read dog body language http://www.wagntrain.com/BodyLanguage.htm

Here is a good site that will help you introduce them

One thing you can do is to start a dog training class. Check out this site to find one around you. http://apdt.com

this is almost imposable to answer for sure. It will depend on both dogs. If they are introduced and trained correctly they should be good. if possible try to get them together a few times before in a neutral area like a park to get to know each other.
You can get (borrow) books form the library and ask your vet for some help and tips.
