1. On federal return, you can deduct the tax you paid to CA state. Now when you file Form 540 for CA, TurboTax seems to put your state income back to your taxable income, as if you can only deduct paid state income tax on federal return, but not for CA return. Anyone knows why?

2. On federal return, you can carry over $3000 capital loss. Somehow when you file CA tax, TurboTax suddenly put a lot of capital gains to the "addition" of the CA adjustment, as if you not only can't use the capital loss carryover, but have to pay a lot more for your recent gains? Is TurboTax buggy for CA returns?

A spokesman for the FBI in Washington said there was no immediate evidence to suggest that the incident was a terrorist attack, “but all avenues will be explored.” ? Sounds like a terrorist attack to me. What do you think?

In the scripture of Adam and Eve (specifically Genesis 3:1-11), there is a single question asked by God Himself that is scripturally unanswered. It is this one question that has been consuming my mind for the past several months because I believe it is at the root of most biblical understanding.

While I believe I have found the answer, it seems to contradict many popular beliefs. This means I could be flat out wrong.

That is why I have turned to you for some fresh perspectives.

God's unanswered question is this, "Who told you that you were naked?" (Genesis 3:11)

1) Who told Adam and Eve they were naked?

2) Is naked evil?

3) Are we damned to hell every time we bathe?

4) What exactly was (is?) the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?

I have a ranch style home that was built in 1958. The bathroom is all original pink 4" x 4" wall tile, and ugly pink floor tile. We have read that we could just get a hammer and begin smashing until all the wall tiles are removed, and also do the same for the floors after the toilet has been removed. O.k., given that there will be a whole load of mess to clean up....what do we do next? The wall tiles emcompass the full permiter of the room and go up the wall roughly 4 1/2 feet. The upper portion of the wall is old drywall. If we remove all the tiles, will we able to use the base underneath the tiles to set new tiles. Or, if that is not an option, do we need to purchase new backerboard or greenboard and put it in place first. The same rings true for the flooring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If there is a less expensive do-it-yourself route to refinish the tiles, those suggestions would also be helpful and appreciated.

I have been watching the news concerning the Virginia Tech shootings, and CNN had a question about attending Tech in the future. On h.s. senior responded and said that no way would she attend Tech. Why doesn't she understand that the same thing could happen at any university?

My husband told me many times, that I am a compromise.That everyone is a compromise. To be honest, I think that he is blind and does not know half about me. I think that no one would ever be able to live to his "high expectations". No woman can always be happy, smily, airy-fairy, always says "yes, darling". I believe that either you love with all your heart or not. Perhaps, it's idealistic. DO you think that the person you love is a compromise?

one guy claims he has had one 14 years with no problems.....Call CNN , this is truly news.I ride with several groups and most times the Harley will have problems and cause delays. Last trip the new Harley quit and had to be flat bed towed back.I gave the fine gentalman a ride home on my HONDA.If Harley's are so good ...why , when people fix them up , do they change the motors to a after market one ???And why if Harley's are so great , are there so many used ones for sale ?
