I think anything that evokes terror is a terrorist act. This war on terror has made the word specific to Middle Eastern attacks on people who aren't Middle Eastern. It's stupid. I agree with you one-hundred percent.

I agree that it is terrorism. The way these shootings are happening........its is terrible and scary and we, the people cant do any about it.......making it terrorism.
However, what the FBI guy means by terrorism is there is no evidence of a "terrorism community" or insurgents. There is no proof that this was done by another country.
It was done by some pshyco who was able to get his hands on a gun and didnt REALLY think about the consequences.
Personally, I think that the news glorifies this type of stuff.
People become instant legends......look at Columbine...
those kids names will live on forever. I think that the
violent offenders names should NEVER been given. They
should receive NO recognition for the horrible crimes they commit.
Maybe that would make it less "desireable" for the freaks out there to commit such horrendous acts.

The technical definition of terrorism, in most countries, includes something akin to acts which are, "intended to create fear or "terror", are perpetrated for an ideological goal (as opposed to a "madman" attack), and deliberately target "non-combatants"
Given that definition, which is close to the U.S. Governments definition of terrorism, it cannot be considered terrorism at this point. Further evidence may allow it, but at the moment it's not terrorism.

The country will go nuts if the name of the shooter is like Mohammad bin As*hole or Abdul Dewayne Mohammad.
This better be 2 white kids with a grudge against the school.

I was castigated by people who answered a question of mine that is so similar to yours. Those people think that only non-Americans, people of other countries can be the only ones who do acts of terrorism. I believe in their minds only acts such as the 911 are terrorism.

The dictionary says that terrorism is: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. I would not think that this tragic incident would meet that definition.

Giggity - Before you try to answer a question, have your facts straight. It wasn't "some stupid white kid who didn't have any friends" it was an Asian kid and nobody knows why he did it.
