a 1200 kg car starts from rest and accelerates to 72 km/h in 20s. Friction exerts an average force of 450 N on the car during this time.
So: t=20s m=1200kg F=450N v=20 m/s (i converted it) a=9.8 m/s^2
A) What is the net work done on the car? B) How far does the car move during its acceleration?
Okay so for part A I used the equation d=d(subzero)+1/2(v:subzero+ v)t. But I overheard my teacher say that you have to square the 20. Then use W=Fd. So then I figured I could use d=1/2at^2. (the t is 20) Then use W=Fd and figure out the work.
Okay so for B) the answer is 200m. If you use d=1/2at^2 you don't get a distnace of 200. But, if you use d=d(subzero)+1/2(v:subzero+ v)t then you get a distance of 200m. But that won't make me square the 20 for part A. So...... What do I do? I have two distance formulas that don't give me the same distance.

Please show me work and what not. Thanks so much.

I just read in the April 7th issue of Science News page 214 that there is evidence of global warming on Mars from 1970's to the year 2,000. I wonder if our global warming is more a solar system phenomna caused by the sun than a global one caused by man

I've melted sugar into caramel and drizzled it over a stainless steel bowl in a lattice pattern. I now have my "bowl" shape, however I can't get the caramel to release from the bowl. I've tried non-sitck spray. I've tried putting the bowl in the freezer as well as other ideas, but the caramel simply sticks and won't let go. Does anyone have any tips?

This may sound like a question coming from a high schooler but I assure you its not. I am a 22 year old woman and I just can't figure this man out. I have an acquantice who I will call T. I have only met him a few times. Everytime we hang out we flirt constantly. We have gotten drunk together a few times and wound up messing around-never had sex-just little things. The thing is I am seeing one of his friends-its not super serious between us. The first time we ever messed around he never called me then I didnt see him for a few months. I just saw him over the weekend and he said he just didn't know what to do and how to handle the situation-that is why he never contacted me. We had a really good talk and things were going good. We wound up going out to a club and getting drunk, my boyfriend was with us. Anyway, T told me that when I was ready to say the word and we would be together. But now he won't answer my calls. Whats going on with this guy?

Do I just say something nice about the bride and groom? How long should it be? (like less than a minute?) I feel really fake doing this and I hardly know my brother's fiance. Should I just say the positive qualities of both people? I don't want to sound cliche.

Hi. I have two really desperate questions for the huckleberry finn book.

1. In what way is Huckleberry Finn related to Moses (as mentioned in Chapter 1)
2. Why would Tom Sawyer want Huck to be "respectable" in order to join the gang. What is the meaning of "respectable"

For all you literature people out there, please help.

ok.. i'm only 19 and this is my first time filing my taxes. so i'm more than a little confused.
i have a 1099 from my current employer for the last part of 06 (july-dec 31 2006)
and i have a 1098-T sent from the comunity college i was attending the last half of 06.(Aug- de. 31 2006)
now i've tried to get my W2's from a previous employer (feb 06 - July 06) but they won't return my calls to get needed information to send me my w2's.
i've talked to the irs, they said send in a 4852 in replacement of those w2's.
is there another form i need for a student loan that i took in May of 06?
( i'm not paying back this student loan yet..not untill July of 07)

furthermore,
are the papers my employer and the college sent me what i send to the Irs? or do i use those papers to fill out other papers that i send in?

thanks. i know these questions are kidda lame, but NO ONE has helped me at all...

I knowthat in order for you to be considered a business rather than a hobbies, three of the last 5 years need to be profitable. I have always claimed a business loss based on my 1099 income but make deductions as a "performing artist" which covers both roles. I only have a small percentage of my income from 1099-misc this year, but have the same expenses as last year (less actually). Almost all of my income is W2. My two-fold question is: 1. Can I, the "W-2 receiving ACTOR" file Schedule C, as self-employed since the W-2's come from payroll services for the various commercials I do. 2. In determining eligibility as a business: If I include the "W2 receiving Actor in the equation, then I am profitable " If I only count my 1099 income, then the years of loss don't qualify for schedule C. And yet the combined expenses for being a performing artist always bring my 1099-misc income as a model to a loss. It costs me more to
