*Poor people make more than they deserve *Dont enforce illegal immigration very well That is just crazy talk, Obama has enforced the border with more money and trrops on the ground than any President in history and poor people wouldn't be poor if they made as much money on the job as they actually earn. *People are more powerful *Enforce illegal immigration very well which keeps the population stable also crazy talk corporations and the rich get all the breaks with republicans often to the detriment of the people and all they do is scream about the border a lot they don't actually ever do a thing. The biggest republican con that lies beneath all that they do: ( all republicans are not bigots, BUT all bigots are Republican)

My answer: don't pick a side.

Decide who you want to vote for based on what you care about. I guarrantee that at first, your views won't all belong to one party or the other. In other words, you'll probably agree with the democrats on some things and with the republicans on others. That's the way it should be.

Some of the most unintelligent people I know are people who believe something just because that's what "their side" believes. Make up your own mind - don't let a political party tell you what to think or believe.

If you pick a side, you could end up like all the idiots on here who post questions like "why does all lieberals Hate america?" Remember to always think for yourself. Don't be one of those folks who lets Limbaugh or Hannity or Moorer tell them where they stand.

Your asking this question shows that you're smart enough to have an open mind on this stuff. Try to keep it open... it's tough to do but you can do it.

Actually, neither party is true to their prior tendencies on much of anything anymore. Much depends on the circumstances in the country as to which party may be best suited to fix the problems.

Look up Franklin D. Roosevelt (Dem) and Ronald Reagan or Barry Goldwater (Rep). You will get a pretty good idea of what each party is basically about. Most people these days vary from the patterns according to what is happening in the country at the time.

Although you won't believe me by reading the posts on Yahoo, most people are very middle-of-the-road and embrace some of the concepts of both parties. It takes both to make the country work as it is supposed to.

Today in 2007 the conservative membership in the democratic party is almost nil. All the former conservative democrats abandoned the democratic party in 1980 in favor of the Republican party.

Today's 2007 Republican Party consists of Neo Cons (former conservative democrats), and Paleo Conservatives (extremely conservative nut-cases).

The Republican party tends to be a business party and a master of international politics but weak on domestic issues. Weak domestic issues is the only downfall of the modern Republican Party.

But you should always vote Republican! Way to go!!!!

What we need in America is a multi-party system where at least one of the parties is responsive to and beholden to the people and doesn't dance to the tune played by big business. That way it is less likely that one party can gain control of the government machinery. I suggest you pick the side which tries to develop such a system.

Historically, the democrats have been all about helping the less fortunate. The trade off is, that in doing so, they raise taxes and their "Help" generally forms a class of people who only know how to depend on the government for everything. They don't get a very good education and therefore, don't get very good jobs.
The republicans on the otherhand, tend not to help the less fortunate and instead hold them accountable for their life's decisions. They generally don't raise taxes and promote capitalism.

Democrats like big government, lots of entitlement programs, are for abortion, and basically believe the government should provide for the citizens.
Republicans, until Bush, liked smaller government, are against entitlement programs and basically believe the individual is better suited to take care of his needs than the government, oh and are against abortion.
Peace, and welcome to the world.

The advantage of picking a side is that everybody on that side will think you're smart, and they'll give you lots of congratulatory pats on the back. The disadvantage of picking a side is that everybody on the other side will think you're stupid, and they'll hurl insults at you and stick their noses up at you.

Republicans get a gun and freedom, and no big government

Democrats get high taxes, communist style social programs, and gay marriage.
