I am from PA. female late 30s and I may take a job starting as crewmember and working to manager, because I have 6yrs manager experience at Subway. Will it be worth it, and I have no idea how long I'll have to work as crew member first, anyone had any similiar experience?

Crewmembers start very low. You have experience, but that's still worth less than $10/hr. The restaurant manager salary and benefits vary widely. 90-something% of all McD's are independently owned and operated, so it would be up to the owner. I worked at a couple of McD's in the past and the restaurant manager makes some good money for no college and doing nothing but delegating everything out. They made in the $45,000-and-up range and had benefits such as insurance and vacation, etc. Find out the name of the owner of your local McD's and see if he or she is even looking to hire a restaurant manager, if he or she is not, he/she might know someone who is.

When I was taking hospitality courses, a McD's recruiter came in to speak. He said that the average salary for a manager was $40-50K a year. And that was in Iowa. Assistant mgrs got around $28-30K. I've never worked there, but I know how hard it is to break into a new job when you almost have "too much experience". Good luck!

dont do it, it sucks to be a crewmember. mcd's makes money from paying their employees the lowest possible amount. i have been a crewmember for 2 years and still make min wage. your best bet is to look for a managerial postition.
