My mom has been having problems sleeping lately and she's looking for some answers to it before seeing a doctor.

Okay, she says that once she sleeps for about 3 or 4 hours, she'll suddenly just wake up. There's no reason for it, no noise, nothing that would wake her up. She just jerks awake and we've got no clue why.

We were thinking maybe it was Sleep Apnea, but she's not having any problems breathing and she doesn't snore. Any clue why this would be happening? 'Cuz it's really getting on her nerves. ^^

I've heard that you should start with your grandparents and I've traced back to my great great grandfather, Edward Davis, but I don't know where to go from there. Any ideas or suggestions?

I was previously employed by two local companies, and informed by managers of both, that they are not allowed to verify dates of employment by phone, fax, or mail at the local address where I worked. Supposedly, only their human resource office in another state can do that.

If you have been told this, how do you fill out the job application? Do you put down the address and phone number of the out of state office, or do you put down the local address where you worked, but only the phone number of the out of state office?

Also, if a company tells you they only verify employment using www.theworknumber.com, how do you list that on the application? Do you leave the address and phone number blank on the application, and just provide the website address with the work number? Those applications only give you a few skinny lines, so I don't have room to explain all of this. It's aggravating.

A man was mowing his front yard when his attractive, blonde, female neighbor came out of the house and went straight to her mailbox. She opened the mailbox, looked inside, slammed it shut, and stormed back into her house. A little later, she came out of her house again, went to the mailbox, again opened it, and again slammed it shut. Angrily back into the house she went.

As the man was getting ready to edge the lawn, the blonde came out again. She marched to the mailbox, opened it and then slammed it closed harder than ever.

Puzzled by her actions, the man asked her, "Is something wrong?"

She replied, "There certainly is! My stupid computer keeps telling me I have mail!"

I realize that using using abbreviations and eliminating capitalization may be quicker, but am I the only one who can spell? Is it really that difficult for people to use words in context or use the proper form of "to"? I'm just saying it seems like these forums invite morons to butcher the English language, for example: using "don't" instead of "doesn't" as in: It doesn't work to use the word "don't" in the first half of this sentence. I'm not trying to be a jerk but I find this annoying. I'm sure I'm going to receive several angry responses to this, but I'm sure I won't be bothered by them since I won't understand what the writer is trying to convey. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I make mistakes too (proper form used in place of "as well" or "also") This isn't directed at the occasional mispelling or impoper use of grammar. All I'm asking is for people is to at least try to use written language correctly.

A man is walking home alone late one foggy Halloween night, when behind him he hears:

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog he makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him

FASTER...

FASTER...

BUMP...

BUMP...

BUMP...

He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him.

However, the casket crashes through his door, with the lid of the casket clapping

clappity-BUMP...

clappity-BUMP...

clappity-BUMP...

on his heels as the terrified man runs.

Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, he locks himself in. His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.

With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down the door.

Bumping and clapping toward him.

The man screams and reaches for something, anything, but all he can find is a bottle of cough syrup!

Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket...

and,

(hopefully you're ready for this!!!)

The coffin stops........

I have two male cats. 1 is 3 yrs. old and the other is 14. I just got a puppy. he is now 6 months old. He chases the younger cat. The older cat just hisses and stays put as he is the king of the house and the puppy doesn't bother him. The younger cat runs til he jumps up on something or just plays dead on the floor. It's so funny! How do i get the cats used to the puppy? Also, how do i keep the dog from chewing on things? The dog is in the kitchen that is blocked off with his bedding, food and litter. All of his things are there and he is happy but i can't keep doing this for long and keeping him penned up. I want a harmonious household of animals! Anyone with similar experiences, please help!! Thanks!!

My 7 month old baby girl has had a fever for three days. I took her to her pedi last night and she checked her ears, nose, throat to find no visible infection. She has lost her appetite, (a little bit), she does not want the bottle, only breast. My hubby and I felt sick the same day she started as well.( were fine now) Her fever has been btwn 102.2 and 100. She was put on Amoxcicillin and Albuterol. ( really bad cough and congestion). The doc took some blood and will have the results back tonight. What could it be? Thanks
