If the leak isn't too serious, you can get a can of "Stop Leak" at any auto parts store. Depends upon how you wish to use the car. Drain and clean the Radiator first. Then ad the Stop leak fluid.

This sounds like a bad idea...buying that car from your friend's mom is nothing but trouble in the making. First off, you don't know anything about cars, and I'll bet she doesn't either. My advice if you are thinking of buying the car, is to take it to a mechanic and have him analyze the exact problem. A leak could be simple, or major...but I'd want to have someone who knows cars look at it first before spending any money on it. Consider this...If it's something simple, why didn't she fix it? Also, have you considered checking anything else...brakes, exhaust, transmission, etc? If you're serious, take the car to have it inspected by a mechanic...that way you both know what it needs and also the likely cost of repairs. Then you can decide whether the car's worth buying. Good Luck

You might be able to put some stop leak in it until you can get it fixed. radiators don't cost that much and are pretty easy to fix.

Runaway as fast as you can. It could be anything from a simple leak to a bad head gasket. Don't waste your friendship on this car.

yeah try stop leak first but if that doesn't work than a new radiator is in order i think they run about 100.00 to 150.00 bucks, but I'm from Michigan???

lastly but not recommended is going to a salvage yard there they are about 20.00/30.00 i think???
