Every so often, you hear on the news about a police officer being sent to prison for some crime or another. If a police officer, or a member of any branch of Law enforcement, get sent to prison, are they treated a LOT worse by inmates? Do the inmates regard them on the same level as they do child molestors and pedophiles? Or, would the gaurds, warden, and other members of the system try and keep that information quiet? I would imagine that any law enforcement agent being sent to prison, would probably regard that as the same thing as being given the death penalty.

Scenario : there is a room full of 100 people. They are variety of all ages, incomes, ethnicities, etc. 1 person in the room is needy (could be hungry, homeless, ill, whatever).

2 possible solutions :

1. A leader in the room passes around a collection. They ask each person to give as much as they can. Each person can give any amount ($0, $1, $10).

2. A leader in the room goes to each person and demands $1. He threatens to throw any person that does not pay in jail. He justifies his actions by saying it's only $1, anyone can afford that, and we must help the needy.

The question: Which solution embodies the idea of freedom? Is there a moral difference between them? Can this scenario be applied to how our government's management of social services?

If you have a string of text

(for example, "1234 quick 1234 brown 1234 fox")

and you wanted to use a regular expression to identify any words in that string of text, what is the c++ code that would do it?

Note: A word is defined as any sequence of letters that is not interrupted by a space.

I could really use an example of code.

What #include statements would I need? Is there a way to do it without including regex? Where do I get regex (if I try to include it now, my compiler gives me an error, so I assume I need to get it from somewhere)?

Please note, I don't need a tutorial on regular expressions. I understand regular expressions well enough as it is, I just need to know how to use them in C++.

I have a 1999 Chevy Venture van. It runs great except for this squeaking noise. When you turn right it squeaks like a
tricycle with a rusted wheel.

I took it to my mech Wed. He said he took the entire uncarriage apart, checked bushings, sway bar, control arm, shocks, struts, tires, rotors, and even checked ball joints throughly. He said he checked everything he could possibly think of, he could find nothing and charged me nothing.

The squeaking is so aggravating that I always ride with the radio up fairly loud to drown out the noise. Last night I noticed that this squeaking 99% of the time only happens when I am turning *RIGHT* into a parking lot/4way/or any right turns--- and causing the van to rock from left to right. When I turn *LEFT* anywhere also causing the van to rock from left to right it doesn't do it.

I mean it is terrible. It sounds as if the van is just an old rusted piece of junk. Only recall - STEERING:GEAR BOX:SHAFT SECTOR #99V071000

Please help.

I run an environmental education center... a co-worker brought me a freshwater eel to add to my South Carolina Wildlife class... How do you take care of an eel? The eel is probably 18-20 inches long and pretty thick....

What size tank? How much water? Food?-How often fed? Etc.

Some citizens: Get welfare~break laws~do drugs~get unemployment~get retirement~get disability~file bankruptcy~are lazy
Welfare~ is FOR AMERICAN citizens, PAID by American citizens
Lawbreakers~ are punished by fines or imprisonment
Drug addicts~ are dealt with through de-tox or they live miserable lives. Our problem, not Mexicos or Mexicans problem.
Unemployment and retirement~are paid by each person and they reap according to what they paid in or earned previously.
Disablilty~provided FOR citizens and must be proven.
Bankruptcy~A legal procedure, paid for in legal fees. A right if needed by citizens.
Lazy~there are lazy people in all cultures and Nationalities. Most Americans are NOT lazy. That is a generalization by some people who have not travelled across this country and seen how hard Americans work. The southwestern part of the USA is only a small portion.

my son was at a scene of a fight afterschool and this boy who was finished beating up this other boy he went after my son. my son has a fractured nose and now requires surgery. i did file a police report ive been to the school but i have got no response from the principal. i have been waiting 2 days and no call back. i just went to the school and he wanst there. i have left several messages and still no response. what can i do??? please help.
