I have never heard anybody be such an absurd mouthpiece for the left who honestly believes what they're saying. I've dealt with a lot of liberals in politics, and they know the crap they're feeding the proletariat is just that. It's just that class warfare is their oldest trick, and they're somewhat partial to it. Does anybody have any thoughts on why Kookoo Bananas is so poorly misinformed?

I've been friends with this person for six or so years, but we had a "feud" a year ago. Now we're going to different schools. She was a really close friend, but her nerdiness was always a friction between us. I've tried apologizing, and I truly do miss her. We wrote a series of short explanatory impersonal letters, and two months before school was out, she came up to me and asked me if there was any point to this if we were going to separate schools anyway.

Part of me wants to slap her, but I really do miss her. And what's wrong with going postal? What should I do now?

Years ago I read a science fiction short story (akin to "The Monkey's Paw") about a magical talisman (?) that would allow you to go back in time, or would bring you some kind of luck, or some such. The catch was that you had to sell the talisman for less than what you bought it for -- or lose your soul. It had been passed from person to person for years, and now the man who had it had to go to another country (India?) b/c that country had a tiny penny-type currency that would fulfill the contract. If he could find someone to buy the talisman, that would be the final exchange b/c (being the tiniest currency in the world) whoever bought it could not resell it and therefore would lose their soul. I recall the story ended with the final purchaser staggering (drunk) into the night, saying something like, "No big deal. I'm going to go to hell anyway." This was a wonderful story that I read in school, thought about for years, and have been unable to find again. Help me please! Thanks.

We are supposed to be having a 4th of July cookout at our house. Today is the 3rd and everyone (our relatives) is still saying they want to come but don't know yet if they have to work on the 4th or not. I was going to go to the store to buy all of the food and supplies but not knowing how many to buy for makes it difficult. Nobody in our family has the same days off work so planning any kind of get-together makes almost certain that some people won't be there, you just never know how many or which ones until the very last minute.
