Have you ever done this? It kinda feels good but when you look at our trash cans overflowing with nick nacks and goodies, you kinda wonder what the heck was I thinking?

YES, omg, I am such a packrat. it's b/c I don't even focus on things I have, I guess, until one day when those novelty visors (that I would never wear in public) and those Christmas cards (that I've never looked at again) are spilling out of the closet..... OK, I need to go home and clean now.....

When we moved after 36 years in the same house, I got a large dumpster. Everyone thought I was crazy. By the time we were done, I was afraid I'd run out of room in it.

Should have had a garage sale dearie, could have made a few extra tokens...another mans trash is another mans treasure ;) But yes, I have done this, and it feels really good...I do it about once a year.

Oh, usually I donate old stuff to Deseret Industries (Mormon version of Salvation Army or Goodwill). Yeah, sometimes it's just time to let go of the past.

Trust me, you won't miss it very long. You think you want it, but when you think about it, not using it is the very reason it's in the trash can. If it bothers you that much, cover it up well.

I did that when I got married. It was strange at first, but now I feel releived the clutter is gone.
