We are looking to rent a vacation home half way between LA and SFO. This will be for around for 6 families. Any recommendations for what location is good and cheaper? I looked in the Internet but all of them at popular places where it is expensive. Any other recommendations?

Ok, I just posted a question before regarding landing in San Fran and things to do while on our lay over back to Canada.

I think we are going to go to Union Square to check out a few stores (I printed out the map and highlighted the stores i want to go to), then we were thinking of heading to Fishermans Wharf. My question is what is the best way to get to Fishers Wharf from Union Square, please remember we are not familiar with your city at all! Also from the airport should we catch a cab or should we hop on the train...and where is the train from the airport, will it go directly to Union Square?

We land in San Fran at 9ish am and have till 7pm to depart. Also do you think leaving Fisherman Wharf at 4 would be enough time to get back to the airport??

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and i have a stop over in San Fran going home to Canada from our trip to Thailand. We will land around 9 am then have to be back at the airport at 7 to depart. I have a few questions if anyone can help me please:

1) Is there a Victoria Secret store, and where is it?
2) The 2-3 main things to see and do while there?
3) Weather in San Fran in Dec (will be there Dec 21)

I would greatly appreciated if someone helped me with these questions so i know what to pack for our trip home in our carry on.....thank you in advance.

Sometimes I can really hate dining in San Francisco, because the parking will cost as much, if not more than the menu items. On top of that, parking is limited. Or if there is an easy way to get to a nice restaurant via BART/MUNI, that would be great.

I'm going to San Francisco on vacation over Christmas and New Year's and I was wondering if there's anyone that has visited this city around the same time and can tell me approximately how much spending money I will be needing? I know the shopping is supposed to be crazy there, but also taking musuem admission prices and food into account too.

Thanks!

I am thinking about moving to Palo Alto to work. Where do most of the people live? I would like to take a weekend trip and see the potential areas. Can someone tell me where most people live and the price range to by property in that area? Also commute time info would be great!

Looking for some places that might provide the best results, or at least some darker spots that can be scarier than the few houses and churches I've seen advertised online.
Anyone know of any off-the-wall spots in the Monterey Bay area like that?

Where should my hubby and I go to learn about wine tasting in Napa? We don't want to be intimidated by all the seasoned drinkers who are well versed in wines. We're only there for 4 nights then we head out to visit family in San Francisco.

My husband and I will be taking a trip to San Francisco over New Year's Eve. Since we spend a lot of time apart during the year, we'd like to make the evening special. Any suggestions for dinner and possibly a masquerade ball? I can't seem to find any sites by searching!

I need a made up slogan for people to visit San Francisco. This is part of a project, it's about making an advertisement for people to move to San Francisco.

Help! I'm not good at making slogans.

I was reading this article on USAToday.com and from the KGO website about how the SF Film Commission denied the Marines permission to film in the city for NO good reason at all and would not explain to reporters the reasons for their decision. In the KGO article it also mentions how the city blocked the USS Iowa from docking here, banned the junior ROTC from high schools, and trys to to ban the yearly Blue Angels air show.

Do you think it was wrong of the film commission to deny the Marines permission to film? Also do you think leaders in the city of SF don't like the military for some reason. Do you think the film commission and other leaders have gone to far in other instances in trying to block the military from doing things in the city? I just wanted to get people's opinions from the Bay Area b/c SF gets a lot of negative media attention for it's liberalism and stuff like this is why, even though I know it's not as bad as people not from the area think it is.

Hello, I live in the Monterey Peninsula and will have some friends visit in from out of town who would like to see San Francisco. I was hoping to save some money on gas and parking, however the BART website has not been very helpful. Where is the nearest BART station (to me) where I can park my car all day and where would we exit the BART in Union Square? I already know we will have to most likely pay close to $10 to ride wherever we want to go all day. I just need a starting point and I am most familliar to Union Square. Thanks!
