It's a thank you note.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who gave me great answers on what to do and how to better enjoy San Francisco.
I went last weekend for four days and had GREAT time.
I loved the city and had the opportunity to see almost everything (I left two or three things pending to have a motive to return ha ha ha).
Thank you very much; you live in a great city.

I am looking for good hotels near the Union Square in San Francisco, which are not too expensive. It would be nice if somebody would recommend me one, where she/he has already stayed.
Additionally the hotel need not to have valet parking or parking spaces, as I will fly to San Francisco and won't rent a car there.
Please do not list up comments from pages like tripadvisor.com, as the comments to some hotels are quite confusing. Thanks.

California wine country. Don't care about the wine, just the scenery, ESPECIALLY valleys, lushness of foliage, and fall colors is a bonus.

If I go to Santa Barbara wine country, is it the same scenery as Napa/Sonoma or not as nice?

What has more beautiful scenery, Napa or Sonoma?

Thanks!

Do you know a good place to stay in Napa this time of the year? I'm more concerned about location, so even any recommendations on areas would be great. Also, how do people get around in wine country if they are drinking wine all day? Bike? Taxis? Horses?

Me and my BF have decided to vacation in Cali but I don't know which locale is best as far as weather, things to do/ see and scenery. I'm 25 and he's 30 but we don't really care about the party scene but moreso having full fun days and lots of photo ops. I had decided on SF but then I became concerned about the rain. Is rain a big issue during November?

I'm going on vacation to Vallejo, CA (I believe it's really close to San Fransico) this Friday to the following Tuesday. Does anyone live close by or know the weather around that area? Do I need to pack shorts?

Just curious about the parking in the avenues. I live in the east bay and was considering taking bart and muni to the park, but if parking isn't too bad, then driving might be cheaper, even with the current price of gasoline.

Having recently moved to the bay area from so cal, I was shocked to see the rivalry and disdain bay area/san fran people have for so cal. It is so strange. Having grown up in so cal...we never really noticed the bay area and definitely didnt have a strong rivalry against the area. We were neutral or thought SF was a nice place to visit.

This attitude reminds me of canada, where the US has a neutral opinion of canadians and canadians have very strong opinions of americans.

Whats up with bay area people being so competitive and hateful of so cal? I would think it is against the left wing liberal values of tolerance and acceptance.
