I'm going on vacation to Vallejo, CA (I believe it's really close to San Fransico) this Friday to the following Tuesday. Does anyone live close by or know the weather around that area? Do I need to pack shorts?

I'm only about 12 miles away, and it rained yesterday and this morning. But it does really warm up in the afternoon, and it's gets cold at night. I'd suggest pants, and layers up top. Definitely a hoodie and umbrella, especially if you're going to SF.

And since you're staying in Vallejo...a gun. Haha, just sort of kidding! (I've read too many crime reports in the papers.)

It is reasonably close to the city. There's an excellent ferry service (runs roughly once every 1-2 hours) that'll get you into Downtown San Francisco in 55-60 minutes.

You won't need shorts. Do bring an umbrella though. Although Vallejo can get very warm in the summer, it's well into the fall by now. At this time of year, you should prepare for cool temperatures (highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s) and the possibility of showers.
