My fiancee and I will be moving to CA soon. He will be a grad student at UC Davis and I am trying to get a job with a firm in San Francisco. Where is a good place to live in between?

Also if you have any idea how much rents are around there for a BR apt that would be helpful since we will be on 1 income for a while.

Hi i will move to SF by march 2008 (date not 100% sure ) and because it will be by myself i can not rent an apartment so i'm gonna start renting a room somewhere and of course with good and respectful people... I would like to know if $2000 could be enought to give this big step??
About work i can not worry about it..cuz i just gonna ask for a transfer where i'm right now.
Is it difficult to someone that never has lived by her own to rent a room??
Pleaseeee give me all advices you can..negatives and positives everything please!!

Ok I'm planning on running away to california for a weekend to see what its like. My mom said that next summer she will take me to Hollywood and L.A and San Fran, but I really wanna go to Oakland too. She said if I can give her 3 good reasons to go to oakland she will take me. What are some good reasons?? I just really wanna go because one of my fave celebs are there and he isnt very popular right now and I know where he lives (haha I know im a stalker but w/e) but I can't tell that to my mom, so I need some good things about oakland that will convince her? Because she thinks it's gloomy and dangerous there.

I'm planning a wedding to be held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Does anybody know the month when it is the prettiest? Like the flowers are in bloom and the weather is nice. Not too hot and not too windy or chilly.

I graduate with my Masters degree in 3 years and want to move back to the SF Bay Area. Hopefully I'll be able to save more than $10,000 over the span of three years, but will $10,000 be enough to have in my bank account and live off of if I can't secure a job in the area before I relocate?

I plan on living in the peninsula area or in south bay--not in SF itself.
