SF and San Diego are both probably the two best cities in CA to live in my opinion but are pretty different from each other.
As for the weather in SF, it depends on what you like. It's generally pretty cool all year long and never gets really warm or cold. Pretty much in the 60's most of the year, even in summer. Winter is slightly cooler with highs in the 50's and Fall is warmer with highs in the 70's. It generally foggy for the most part and pretty windy. I don't like the weather in SF much, it's just too cold and windy a lot of times, but you can live in other parts nearby that have much better weather,
There are plenty of good jobs in the Bay Area but they are just competitive. The pay is excellent in the Bay Area and the best in the nation overall and is 20% higher than the national average. It is a VERY expensive city to live in, both renting and buying are 2nd highest in the nation after NYC.
The people in the Bay Area are great for the most part, especially the East Bay; people are a little more down to earth and less pretentious. But SF and other enclaves in the Bay Area can have some snobby, pretentious, know it alls. It's so diverse though you'll more than likely find a crowd you fit in with, but the people in SF aren't the most outgoing bunch.
SD and SF are very different and it all depends on what you like. SF is more of a traditional, urban type of city: very dense, compact, relatively fast paced, and very cosmopolitan and international. It has a lot of high brow culture and such. San Diego is a much more laid back, beach oriented type of city. Not as urban or dense, but still very much a big city with plenty to do. The people are some of the friendliest and outgoing people in CA overall from my experiance. SD doesn't have all the high end culture and stuff like SF, but it's less pretentious and more down to earth as well.
SD has good jobs but they don't pay as well as SF. Housing is both cheaper to rent and buy significantly in SD, but still expensive none the less.
SD is a great city with the best climate in the US, it's usually sunny and in the 70's year round and always a comfortable temp. It's a laid back, vacation type of atmosphere while SF is more of a fast paced, traditional city atmosphere. So if you want more excitenment and fast paced living then SF is great for that. For more laid back living SD is better for that. It all depends on what you are looking for.

SF would be great if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get a house the size of a garage in the midwest. The weather is good, mild and sunny mostly and no winter. I like it better than San Diego, but it is warmer in SD. Probably you should visit both, the culture is different in southern california from northern california, some people just seem to go better with one or the other.

Its a nice place to go and do things over there but I wouldn't want to live there. I live on the other side of the bay, and in SF its very confusing if you don't know your way around. I know people who live there for years and still get lost in that city lol. The weather is nice but can get pretty cold, I don't know what that person means by no winter, because it gets rather cold since it s on the water, and very foggy at times. I heard it is very expensive, you pay alot for very little! Check out both places and decide which would be best for you.

sf houses dropped their value a definite buyers market right now. weather in sf summer low 70's winter high 50's low 60's pay is good. minimun wage is like $9.50/hr people its a toss up some a really nice and other are just plain evil. i would personally stay out of the city and shoot more for the south bay. san jose, santa clara, cupertino, sunnyvale its a little cheaper but def safer and its like 45 minz from san fran depending on traffic.

yep, except for the exorbitant housing costs, SF is wonderful in every other respect. I was born there and raised in the Bay Area. Fabulous
