Which part of Oakland is safest?

Yeah, no place is really super safe in Oakland. But there are some nice place to go that are probably generally safer than others. Montclair is nice and so are the Oakland Hills. A lot of rich people live in the Oakland Hills and i dont think they would live there if it was really dangerous. There are a lot of places around Oakland though that are nice and safe. So if your really looking at Oakland and wouldnt go anywhere else, those two places would be the best. But be warned, those places are also generally kinda expensive.

North Oakland, right where it borders Berkeley. If you don't know whether or not you're in Oakland or Berkeley, you're good. All of Piedmont and the Oakland Hills is nice. Oakland really isn't that bad... if you're walking through East Oakland it can be a little shady, but you're not going to be murdered. Most of the murders that occur in Oakland are gang related. So unless you're claiming blue or red, you're not really in danger.

Not east Oakland.
Some places in Oakland are nice, but generally try going over the bay or richmond bridge to find the safest places.

LOOK IT ALL DEPENDS!!! I LIVE IN EAST OAKLAND RIGHT OFF OF HIGH N ITS NICE N QUITE! IN PIEDMONT &(ALL OF THE HILL AREA) THE POLICE PAY MORE ATTENTION TOO CUZ THATS WHERE THEM RICH (WHITE) PEOPLE LIVE.....DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THESE OAKLAND HAT'N PEOPLE!!!! U GOTTA COME N KICK IT WIT A REAL OAKLANDER!!! BEEN HERE ALL MY LIFE AND AINT PLANNING TO GO!!!! I COULD BE LIVN IN THEM HILLS BUT CHOOSE NOT TO! ITS REALLY A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE....BUT LIKE I SAID THE HILL AREA IS SAFE...CUZ U GOT THE POLICE THERE.....THEY DONT GIVE A *SHlT BOUT PEOPLE LIV'N IN THE LOWER CLASS AREAS......BUT ANY HOOT MY NEIGHBORHOOD N SURROUNDING AREAS IS SAFE AS CAN BE!!!!
