it could be warm or starting to get chilly-- figure jeans for daytime & of course dress nicely for upscale restaurants. some may require jacket tho others you can wear business casual...it will more than likely be chilly in the evening unless you get lucky!!

the concierge at the fairmont will give you advice as to which restaurant requires what.......let them help you & you tip them...

Wow, Fairmount, lucky you!

The hot spells are usually september and October, so iti might still be warm then, but take sweaters, and even a jacket, just in case. Most of the year, The City is rather cool. Napa might be a little warmer, but it would start the "winter" season at that time. If so, be prepared for rain.

And maybe fog. Fog in the bay area gives a whole new meaning to "pea soup-er"!

Layering clothes is a good idea in SF.

Have fun! I love San Francisco!! Definately left MY heart there!!

I asked a similar question about a month ago because I am also going to San Francisco in October. A bunch of people that actually live there told me that the weather in San Francisco during October is similar to the weather in Florida during January, which pretty much would mean upper 60's/lower 70's during the day & lower 40's/ upper 50's at night. Layered clothing is the way to go, dude!

This is the best time of the year to go. SF and Napa have Indian Summers so it will be beautiful. Bear in mind that both locations cool off in the evening though so jackets will be necessary.

Every weekend is different but I'll call the averages 70 day/50 night.

It is always cold in San Francisco, even in the Summer. Plan to dress for temperatures between 40 & 55 degrees, and bring an umbrella.
Napa is not quite as cold since it is more inland.

wet and cold for sure
during the day a long sleeve but light material will begood. carry a windbreaker or sweatshirt though. at night you will want heavier clothing as it gets pretty cold. chances of rain are very good. it always rains or threatens to rain near halloween
