2930 miles, across Georage Washington bridge, you will see I 95, and go south 2 miles, then you will see sign I-80 start, then all the way to I-80 end, that is downtown SF, only Cleveland to Chicago part is toll road, I remember $8 something, gas price $350.

I just drove an Eclipse from the eastern shore of maryland to LA--I basically had to fill up at least twice up every day and I managed about 600 miles/day (or slightly more)--say about 13 gallons of premium per fill up. Gas varied widely but got cheaper in the middle & more expensive on the coasts. There are very few toll roads once you leave the east coast (none). The Bridges in San Fran will cost ya. Best to over estimate & have more $ than too little.

Depends on your type of car, your route, how you drive, where you buy your gas, etc.
