Rent a car or change your inbound flight to a closer airport (ontario maybe?) otherwise you will have a hard timne finding a cab to take you that far and it WILL cost a small fortune

There is a shuttle bus that runs from LAX to Bakersfield. It's called the Airport Bus. The number is (661) 327-2411. I'm not sure how much it costs, but it has to be cheaper than a cab. Also, you may want to look into flying into Meadows Field, the Bakersfield Airport. Have a good trip.

VERY EXPENSIVE. There is a service called Airport bus that will pick you up at the LAX airport and go direct to Bakersfiled. I think it's about $60 one way. I don'ty know if they require reservations or what the schedule is, but yI'm sure there's information available online. It's call Airport Bus of Bakersfield. This will be much less expensive and you can sleep all the way there - let someone else do the driving.

you should try posting this in the LA board. Bakersfield is over 400 miles away from SF.

It is 111 miles total one way. You are looking at $300 plus dollars for a cab ride. Check out http://www.cayellow.com for calculator.

You would be better off renting a car or finding some other form of transportation. Try amtrak or grey hound if you want public transit, or possibly an airport shuttle.

A LOT! Rent a car. Take a bus. Don't take a cab.
