Are there any towns similar to Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls in California? Like fun, nice towns where alot of people get to know each other? Ecspecially maybe around the San Diego area or Southern California. Not little dumpy towns though!

We're flying out to San Diego for our son's graduation from Marines bootcamp and he sent home a list of candy/snack items he wants for family day. I'm wondering if we can take that stuff in a carry-on bag. I've read the toiletry restrictions, but didn't find anything about candy, etc. Would it be easier just to buy the goodies at the PX? Last thing, What is the weather like in San Diego this time of year? We're in WI. Thanks!

I live in Mississippi and am currently attending Ole Miss, and I hate it. I just have to get out of the south before I go crazy. So the only time I've ever been to San Diego was when I drove there and only stayed for a short week without really getting acquainted with the city. I don't really know what the good and bad areas of SD are, so I was wondering what the best community college in the area is based on that I prefer it to be in a nice part of town, attendees median age range be in the 20's, and it not be a run down campus. I thought about attending SD city college but the counselor told me the median age was in the 30's and 40's. Also, If anyone could give me advice on a nice area to live near the community college they suggest and any other extra advice that could help me with my move would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I need examples for 3-bedroom detached homes, occupied by two persons, gas-heated, with little-to-no outdoor water use. What is the breakdown of water $, electrical $, and gas $ each month? Typical winter? Typical summer?

okay I have decided to try the seal/sea bus in San Diego
but does anyone know how often the tour departs?
I have checked several websites and not *one* tells you
what time or how often the tour departs seaport village!
(I'm afraid to get my ticket then find out sorry the last
tour left at 9am! and I dont arrive till 10:30am!
the websites i have checked
sandiego.com
oldtowntrolleytours.com
sealtours.com
(I even tried calling them they said they didn't know that far
in advance!)
(this will be for Oct 25)

I'm going to San Diego (on the megabus) from Los Angeles
I was wonder which would better to do
tour the midway aircraft carrier or ride the Old town sea bus?
(the midway is $15.00 and the bus (which is a tour of San Diego then it drives into the bay) is $30.00
which do you think is a better deal?

I am coming in from Las Vegas (driving). I am coming to the House of Blues for a concert, but I am going to need a hotel to stay at. I need a good affordable hotel in San Diego that is safe (aka I want to feel comfortable being a female checking in at night and staying by myself). Also continental breakfast is a plus but not required.
