Hello everyone

Thanks for taking time out to read this. I'm a exchange student at SDSU and I thought that it would be a lot cheaper here than in England, so far the clothes have been cheaper but not much else, could someone tell me if that's because I'm in San Diego?

Where could I find cheap homeware (Wal-Mart isn't that cheap) If someone could suggest some dirt cheap shops I would be very greatful!

I wanted to know after buying a car in the US what do I need? Insurance? Tax? Etc

Thank you in advance for all your answers.

Sensible answers appreciated.

=)

I don't have a passport so I can't go to TJ. From what I've read, Dreamgirls and Pure Platinum are topless only and that's not what I want.

My nephew is moving to San Diego for a new job. I'd like to help him with his move. I'm not asking every one to answer all my questions. If you can just give me some information about one or more of the questions I would appreciate it very much.
1) What areas are the "bad" neighborhoods to live in?

2) What neighborhoods are too expensive for most people to afford?

3) Are there lots of yard sales there?

4) Are there any thrift stores in San Diego?

5) Is it very humid in San Diego? What is the average humidity?

6) Are people in San Diego open and friendly?

7) Are the grocery stores there any more expensive than any place else? I'm asking about the big chain stores, not the privately owned stores or very exclusive stores.

8) What are the current gas prices there?

9) Can you add some comments to what I haven't asked?

Again, thank you all very much for your help.

I will be relocating to San Diego and I am looking for a safe, fairly updated apt for me and my son not too far from the Children's Hospital. I am not familiar with the safer neighborhoods (if there is such a thing nowadays) or how far away is too far with traffic and such. Any help is appreciated as I am coming from overseas. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to San Diego all day Saturday and Sunday (the 22-23). I have researched things to do, but I'm trying to pick the best ones and how to organize each day. Can you please help me make a mini-itinerary of when do these activities and in what order (I'm also not sure which things are close to each other), where to have my meals and suggest anything that I'm missing? We are 21 year old girls and Sat. night we want to go to a club, so if you know what the best ones are that would be great. Thanks!

I am trying to look for a decent beach to have a BBQ, particullary somewhere with cliffs or places we can BBQ away from the sand. I want to be close enough to the beach to swim but a little bit away from the sand so our food doesn't get sandy. I was thinking Windansea because they have cliffs with little sand but I don't like that beach...the waves get way to crazy for me. So if you can suggest a beach that would be great!

I've been to Deja Vu Las Vegas, how does the one in San Diego compare (Dreamgirls is the San Diego club). I'm interested in a full nude club rather than a juice bar.

Trying to go to Sacramento, would it be faster to jump on the 1 (Coast Highway) and take that to the 405, take the 405 until San Fernando and get back on the 5, or just take the 5 straight through? The traffic is ALWAYS so bad on the 5 in LA. Help!!!
