Hi, I would like to find an apartment in the area of central/south san diego. preferably central. just nothing in sdsu area. sorry college students are too noisy. i know cause Iam one. can someone reccommend an apartment complex or a general area to look? Please no craigslist, I have seen too many slums on there, I havent found nothing much on rent.com to work with. any reccomendations. thanks

hahaha good luck. I live in a one bedroom dog friendly apartment in san diego for $1200 a month. Living here is ridiculously expensive!! Not to mention there is a $600 deposit for your animal and $45 a month pet rent.

Craigslist worked out for me, wound up in a quiet area renting out a bungalow style place for 600. There are also nice neighborhoods in areas that have bad reputations, so you can't always judge a book by its cover. It also depends what you consider central and south.

That might be asking a lot these days. Try south of the border in Tijuana, $800.00 can probably last you the whole year.

For under $800 a month, you will be seeing slums no matter where you look, unless you get really really lucky. It's just the law of supply and demand.

There are some really nice places in the hillcrest area that are about 800/mo. It's cheap because not everyone wants to live there, but it's fine.
