Thought I would see the Dead Sea Scrolls. Any other excitement there? Spiritual or metaphysical or vegetarian stuff? Maybe even a group tour? Dolphin healing? Inexpensive or funky quarters? Any input appreciated.

I am planning to go camping for two nights in northern San Diego in California. How much wood will I need to get about 10 hours of fire for those two nights? Also, how much will it cost? I have heard that some gas stations sell them cheap and camp parks usually sell them also. Any help will be appreciated.

I want to go parasailing in San Diego. I've looked at www.goparasailing.com but I don't think their prices are reasonable. The site says the boat ride is approximately one hour and each person gets about 7 min. of parasailing. It costs $70...so basically $10/min? Is there any other place that has more reasonable pricing?

Winter was colder than normal, spring was way cooler than normal, and so far this summer it's been at least 5 degrees below average all summer. Does anyone else think this year has been cold for SD? I realize it's still pleasant and the weather isn't that bad compared to elsewhere and people inland are probably liking it, but here along the coast it's been so damn cloudy and cooler than normal all year. This is not normal SD weather and I just wish it was warmer and at least normal temps. And I know were spoiled with weather so I should't really complain, but I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way?

My wife and I are about 40 and trying to decide between a few different cities in the Western US for a week-long vacation. We're not golfers or major athletes, but we like biking and hiking. We like to spend some time at the beach. We like culture, but want to spend more outdoors than indoors. What are the best locations for a hotel for this kind of vacation -- close to a beach but not too far from the culture the city offers?

I am 16 years old now and I am going to college in just two years. I live in the suburbs of Chicago now but I've wanted to move to San Diego for as long as I can remember. College seems like the perfect chance. I have two years to make this decision and I want to make the right one. I can either stay here and go to college, living at home or move to san diego alone, at 18 years old and do something for me for once. I have done some research about San Diego and the one thing that I have learned is how expensive it is. So I guess my overall questions are...
A.) Is leaving my family at such a young age to go live across the country worth it?
and
B.) What is the least expensive yet nice area for a college girl to afford? I am going to find a roommate so I'm not planning on living alone.

Thanks =)

I am 27, single and really want to live an a fun area where younger professionals live and by that I mean preferrably not the college crowd. Please let me know, as I am not at all familiar with the neighborhoods. I am also possibly looking to purchase a condo. My work is flexible it basically covers most of Southern Cali, so I can live pretty much anywhere.

we are looking for a family (small kids) friendly place, where food is provided as well like Club Med. With small children, we just want a nice place to stay, walk around, maybe some fun things to do on the resort like swimming, miniture golfing, etc. Not into staying in line for hours (so not parks, zoos, etc). Anywhere within 1-2 hours of drive from Los Angeles is OK.
