Winter was colder than normal, spring was way cooler than normal, and so far this summer it's been at least 5 degrees below average all summer. Does anyone else think this year has been cold for SD? I realize it's still pleasant and the weather isn't that bad compared to elsewhere and people inland are probably liking it, but here along the coast it's been so damn cloudy and cooler than normal all year. This is not normal SD weather and I just wish it was warmer and at least normal temps. And I know were spoiled with weather so I should't really complain, but I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way?

Well, how long have you been there? When I lived in Ocean Beach back in 1975, we had the lowest "average" year ever.

My parents say this is the most pleasant year they have had, but for the complete list, see the link.

Naw, this is normal for San Diego. While it has its cool days, it also has its very hot days. If you are on the coast, it is cooler, but inland in East County where I live, it's been unbearably hot. I'm 45 and have lived here for most of my life. Trust me when I say that it has been much cooler than this here. I remember that in 2005, it actually snowed in Escondido. That is normal elevation and far too low to snow, but it was unusually cold that winter, the snow was only a light dusting and didn't melt until the temperatures rose later. Weird. What you are experiencing isn't all that unusual for San Diego. San Diego's weather patterns vary, with the basic temperatures being around the 70's year round, except for the hot and cold months when it will vary.

I dont know about San Diego, but here in Britain has been so bad, rain wind its like Autum again. We have good days but even those are cooler than should be. I remember when summer was summer and that was so special,a time for fun and everyone felt and looked happy. Now all you see are people going about looking sad and glum.Bring back the summer lets all smile and be happy.

Gee, email your question to Al Gore. He'll be very surprised!

At least there had been very little of May Gray or June Gloom.

And don't jinx us. Last two weeks of August and first week of Sept are traditionally the warmest weeks in these parts.

If you want Hot, head over the hills on 8 to Ocotillo and El Centro. Not that far.

Compared to last summer when it was humid and way uncomfortably hot, the five degrees below average is a God-send.
